From what I remember, the originals (at least ZOE2) had some significant frame rate problems, especially near the end of the game. It was still extremely fun, but I won't be picking up this set unless it gets a significant discount.

This.

I'm proud to say that I too am the proud owner of the original copies.  But in best case scenario, there will be a future patch that brings the PS3 version up to par with the Xbox 360 version.  Worse case scenario, this will eventually be one of the very few subpar multi-platform PS3 games of the many superior multi-platform PS3 titles that I own.

If it's an EDRAM problem there is no way to patch around the issue.

Of course there is, it's not like these games are emulated, they've been edited and then recompiled.

Did they really recompile them? Usually collections are emulated. If they truly did recompile them......then wow. Laziness isn't the word.

Kind of near impossible to add trophies/achievements without touching the source code.  But yeah all the "collections" were ported over through their source, it's pretty much the only way to get it done (Like you can make an emulator, but again, the trophies).  Plus some other games go the extra level like with Tomb Raider.
