Forums - Nintendo - I've discovered that Pokemon is a Hardcore Game, therefore Pokemon Haters must be Casual Gamers (and a few Mid-core).

I'm not saying that every casual gamer is a hater. There are pokemon haters (there is no doubt in that) and what I'm trying to do is to find the type of gamer they are. Since pokemon fails as a casual game (see below the part you quoted) the most logical answer is that pokemon haters belong to the casual gamer group.

That definition is nonsense.
Any game rated above T/12 is hardcore and any game rated below is casual (i.e. for kiddies and soccer moms). Games rated T/12 vary in hardcoreness. With some evident exceptions, this definition always works. Pokemon is not one of these exceptions; it is evidently for kiddies.

Should I trust a forum user instead of the Wikipedia then? Notice that by your definition Civilization, Gran Turismo and Minecraft (for example) are for soccer moms.

Read what I said again. I'm saying being a Pokémon hater doesn't make you a casual gamer. It's just one example of a "hardcore" game. Suppose we choose another equally "hardcore" game, like Mass Effect. What if someone is super hardcore for Mass Effect but simply doesn't like Pokémon, or vice-versa? Just because they don't like Pokémon, they're casual? Does this rule apply exclusively to Pokémon and to no other games?

But hating a game just because it is different is quite stupid. Imagine that every company made only shooters (or the genre you prefer). Then if the shooter userbase isn't big enough the entire industry would collapse. Diversity is absolutely needed. Do you think we have enough people that doesn't realize this?

Don't mix don't like and hate. I don't like FPS games but I don't hate them. It's just that they aren't my thing. However, I know that they have a reason to exist because other people like them. Nobody likes everything.

It CAN be hardcore, but I remember being 11 years old when Pokemon red and blue came out when pokemon took off.

You cant say a game is truly core when pre teens are the main players.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Yeah, I find it very stupid when people hate on shooters. You are absolutely on the point.
