Wiimote has buttons, Kinect doesn't.

Wiimote has motion sensing, Kinect too.

Kinect is an option. The 360 controller isn't.

You can choose to get Kinect if you're into the kind of games that are offered for it. The 360 serves as the hub for this kind of entertainment. But it isn't the primary control scheme. Otherwise, you wouldn't have the option. It would be bundled with every single 360 packages, like the Wii and its Wii-mote.

Ok. And Kinect is also a complete failure next to DualShock 3?

The Balance Board is compatible with more than just Wii-Fit, FYI. Just like Kinect is an add-on compatible with more than just Kinect Adventure. Or like the Move controller can be used to control your PS3, just like Kinect does for the 360, yet isn't considered the primary controller for the PS3.

Your stance here is near the epitome of grasping at straw.

The Balance Board was made to for one game, and wasn't bundled heavily, that goes for Move as well. Why is it unfair to compare Kinect to the Wii Remote because it came with every Wii but fair to compare Kinect to the Balance Board when it wasn't bundled any where near as much?

You can choose to get a Wii too. Kinect serves as the device you need to get Wii like games. The Wii remote is comparable to Kinect for this sole reason. It's not bundled with every 360 (still heavily bundled) because Kinect can't be used for every game and the 360 controller is needed for those. It wouldn't make since to not include a 360 controller with every bundle since they aren't very expensive and it would limit that purchase to a few select games.

What kind of logic is that? -_-

It isn't fair because it isn't the primary controller for the console. It isn't the de-facto controller for the near entirety of the console's game collection. It is a peripheral, an add-on, that isn't core to the system's design. It is an option for the gamers, just like the Dancing Mats are for the kind of games tey support, or driving wheels, etc...

Just because Microsoft implemented Kinect well with its console, doesn't make it the primary controller.  The Wii can't work without a Wii-mote. A 360 works just fine without Kinect.

Nope. With Kinect, you get Kinect like games. They may approach the experience found on the Wii in nature, but they are quite different.  You would know if you had tried one.

It also works just fine without a 360 controller. Being the "de-facto controller" isn't possible when you are a late entrant, being made to gather games another platform already has. It is the de-facto controller for the Wii like games that weren't possible before it. Explain why Microsoft promoted "hands-free gaming" when it released if they weren't comparing it to the Wii Remote? If Microsoft compares it to the Wii Remote then you have no reason not to as well. End thread.

Lol I have tried Kinect, there's a reason why it does well with only games the Wii also does well with lol. Dancing games have sold the most for it besides the game its bundled with, dancing games just happen to be also very popular on the Wii. I wonder why that is.

1. The Kinect is not compared to the Wiimote because the Wiimote is actually a useful controller that is compatible with more or less 99% of Wii games out there. The Kinect is a peripheral that is compatible with less than ten percent of the X-Box's library and that is a very generous estimate.

2. Being able to control the system with the Kinect does not make it a primary controller. I can control my Wii with a Classic controller or a Guitar hero guitar. I could control my X-Box 360 with a set of rock band drums. I can control my PS2 with a DDR Mat. I can control my Gamecube with a Madcatz Arcade stick. And so on so forth.

3. Who's comparing the Kinect to the Balance Board? I don't get the logic of this topic. "The Kinect shouldn't be compared to the balance board so we should compare it to the Wii Remote." What is this... I don't even...

4. The Kinect shouldn't be compared to the Wii Remote or the Balance Board. It should be compared to a koosh ball. It's interesting to play with for about five minutes until you realize it's useful and throw it away.

I am 300 miles from home right now so I can't tell you exactly which menus off the top of my head. I have two Xbox 360s. One of them has Kinect. One does not. Often, I begin in the living room using Kinect with no Xbox 360 controlle and, while exploring the dashboard, I always stumble across a menu or option that says "you will need an Xbox controller to continue."

That makes me feel that, while Kinect can do many things, it is not the primary controller because you can't even use it for certain simple settings.
