I think "Generic Democrat" vs "Generic Republican" spreads would be pretty much the same almost anywhere. Europe generally focuses on lack of US healthcare and low tax rates and see's republicans as "unlike them" ignoring areas they share with conservatives such as general economic handling policy. (While they have more government spending their reactions to recessions and such are more conservative then republicans are.)

While the middle east and asia likely see's your average republican as more likely to bomb them.

The only outlier may be Africa, where he might gain support since the president wouldn't be black. Since George W Bush actually became the biggest supporter of Africa when it comes to aid in US history. (Obama has actually gone backwards in the regard.)

I'm fairly certain you overrate people's knowledge of US politics...

Maybe, but in general I believe, despite what people know or don't... worldwide there is generally an opinion hat is more or less "Republicans = Bad"  "Democrats = Not Republican."

Funny that Romney's most supportive country is Kenya. Says all you need to know about Obama, since they know him best after all

If you Euros love Obama so much, don't fret... in a couple of weeks after he's fired you can take him in and make him King of His Own World, or make him the leader of the I.N. (that's Impotent Nations). Either one would be a perfect fit for him.

You are likely going to be in a for a rude awakening in a few weeks . Personally though I could care less who gets elected, since it is pretty clear the partisan senate will prevent either candidate from doing absolutely anything considering neither party will get a super majority, at least until 2014.

I said it earlier, only Israel and other Western-puppet regimes in the Middle East and some factory owners in China are going to back the Republicans.

edit: and Georgia.

So what you are telling us is that the countries that want a strong and successful USA want a Republican at the government, and the countries that want a weak USA want a Democrat at the government. Makes sense.

Countries that have twisted self-preservation agendas (Israel and their illegal land-grabs, the repressive oil monarchies, and Georgia who's also out for semi-legal land-grabs) that are usually in America's interest back the Republicans, while participating members of the global community favor democrats.

I don't see why the people of western puppet regimes would want repubilicans.

That said, the one country I have seen that has the public mildly more support for Romney?

Pakistan.

Makes me wonder who the people of Yemen would prefer.  Nobody has polled them unless i missed it.

The oil monarchies of the Mid-East are going to want a Democrat?

In Pakistan's case, it could be a combination of distaste for the drone strikes and the fact that a lot of Pakistanis have a lot of respect for the military regimes, and so see Obama as a backer of Zardari and his corrupt incompetence.

In Yemen's case, it might be more complex.

Their citizens?   Why wouldn't they?

Oh, right. Duh :P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm pretty sure the Republicans could run this stat as an anti-Obama campaign and actually be successful.

it would be interesting to see what america's popularity in this world would be like if Romney actually won then. Not very that's for sure. If he went to war with someone, he would be alone like Johnson was in Vietnam probably!

Thank god they get a grand total of zero votes.

i wouldnt be so sure about that. it probably wouldnt be to hard for them to cast votes for obama, and have them count. and if someone tries to stop them... its racist.

anyway, this should make everybody want to vote for Romney.

Well... After 8 years of Bush, can you blame them?

I prefer Mitt because I see him as more likely to cause a crisis within America which causes the country to do some serious soul searching and make long term adjustments which will improve the stability of the country. Obama will just massage BAU down the track a little longer than it should be whereas Romney is someone who will help screw things up a little faster IMO.

Tease.

By the way... when it comes to starting wars...

Should the U.S. intervene in the affairs of other countries? Here are Romney and Obama's positions

"Only in matters of national security, human rights violations, or specifically asked by the international community"

"Only if there is a direct threat to our national security"

Barack Obama's position is that first one actually.
