Guys, we have access to the entire internet. Unless you're trying to sway folks into vegetarianism, please find pics of food that look like food!
Watch the movie "Forks Over Knives" if you think that humans need to eat meat for protein and milk for calcium. There are also proven arguments showing non-animal diets prevent/cure illnesses.
I'm vegan for 2 reasons:
1.) It makes me feel healthy all the time. I used to get a cold, sore throat, or other illness at least once a year, every single year of my life. Since I've been vegan (and also cut processed sugars from my diet completely) I haven't felt the least bit sick in years.
2.) I feel that all living things deserve the same amount of appreciation and respect as we're told to give to other humans. Animals, and all smaller creatures, are just as intelligent, and just as important to the ecosystem as us, albeit in their own way.
I recommend everyone look at video of how animals are generally raised and slaughtered for human consumption. It is the worst form of torture, suffering, and death possible. Animals have been proven to have the same amount of feelings and emotions as us. So put yourself in an animals position, and ask yourself how you would feel being forced into the position of being farmed for someone else's benefit. Caring for other people is important, but caring for all the living things we must share this world with is even moreso.
We are long past the time of having to hunt animals for food to survive on. We are intelligent enough to grow any number of organic foods in the ground and live our entire lives on them.
That being said, I'm certainly not telling anyone that what they are doing is wrong and they should stop. I don't think in terms of 'right' vs 'wrong'. I only ask that you to do some research in order to understand where your food comes from. And if you're ok with how animals are treated/killed, then so be it. All I'm saying is that I'm not.

| Scoobes said: 1. Our jaws are surprisingly strong, so yes they're fairly efficient. 2. And in evolutionary terms it does make it right; we evolved to eat meat. I doubt our brains would have evolved to the size they are if we didn't eat meat (both in terms of nutrients and the extra brain power needed to successfully hunt). 3.Edit: If you're genuinely worried about animal welfare but like meat, you can always do what I do and only buy specific meat (e.g. free-range chicken) |
1. Good to know.
2. Even if our brains did evolve as the result of meat. We can substitute the meat today though. So it's no longer required. And you seem to be letter nature decide what's right or wrong, even though we have a much greater capacity to do so.
3. Good point. That would solve my main issue against meat-eating.

I searched through a few pages of Google images but found nothing, people really need to learn how to present their food on a plate.

| spurgeonryan said: You know that is not what I am saying. So should we just let animals live and take over the planet? How far should we over step our bounds as humans? |
Huh? I don't understand your question.
All I'm saying is if something is found in nature, that doesn't necessarily mean it's okay for Humans to do the same thing.

Now that's something I would call meat.
Though the fries look like they were still frozen.
If their lives and deaths are relatively free from pain I don't see a problem with eating their meat. It's not like animals will have some sort of valuable lives and have a great impact on their - or other species' future.
An animal's life is all about feeling good or feeling bad. If they feel good throughout their lives it doesn't matter if we make it a bit shorter, in my opinion.
