Watch the movie "Forks Over Knives" if you think that humans need to eat meat for protein and milk for calcium. There are also proven arguments showing non-animal diets prevent/cure illnesses.

I'm vegan for 2 reasons:

1.) It makes me feel healthy all the time. I used to get a cold, sore throat, or other illness at least once a year, every single year of my life. Since I've been vegan (and also cut processed sugars from my diet completely) I haven't felt the least bit sick in years.

2.) I feel that all living things deserve the same amount of appreciation and respect as we're told to give to other humans. Animals, and all smaller creatures, are just as intelligent, and just as important to the ecosystem as us, albeit in their own way.

I recommend everyone look at video of how animals are generally raised and slaughtered for human consumption. It is the worst form of torture, suffering, and death possible. Animals have been proven to have the same amount of feelings and emotions as us. So put yourself in an animals position, and ask yourself how you would feel being forced into the position of being farmed for someone else's benefit. Caring for other people is important, but caring for all the living things we must share this world with is even moreso.

We are long past the time of having to hunt animals for food to survive on. We are intelligent enough to grow any number of organic foods in the ground and live our entire lives on them.

That being said, I'm certainly not telling anyone that what they are doing is wrong and they should stop. I don't think in terms of 'right' vs 'wrong'. I only ask that you to do some research in order to understand where your food comes from. And if you're ok with how animals are treated/killed, then so be it. All I'm saying is that I'm not.
