Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Music launched

Xbox Music offers three ways to use the service: free, ad-supported streaming (for Windows 8 only), a $9.99 monthly subscription (dubbed Xbox Music Pass) that allows unlimited play, and the pay-per-song model via Xbox Music Store that lets you purchase and download 256kbps DRM-free MP3s (streaming music plays as 192kbps WMA files

-------------------------

So media in the Netherlands and Belgium are reporting it launched today on the 360 instead of the 26th of October.. but since I don't have a 360 since 2010 anymore is anyone using it? any impressions? Should I forget about my Spotify account?

Wow. I love the cloud linking. So if I have a great playlist I made on Windows 8 tablet it is ready and available also on Xbox or Windows phone. And the files you downloadd are in MP3. Not a stupid format like ITunes.

Really impressed with this. Turning on Xbox 360 right now. Good bye LastFM and ITunes accounts. I'll unsubscribe those tomorrow.

Isn't this just the Zune music renamed and reskinned?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Anyone else wish that Pandora would expand to consoles?

Its not just Zune music renamed and reskinned. I read that they are expanding to 30 million songs and people will also be able to listen for free (ad supported). The heavy cloud integration amongst devices has also been improved. Amongst other things.

Not on Windows Phone 7.

What happened to the MS that prized compatibility with 10 year old software?

Wasn't the Zune just an urban legend? none have been seen in mainland europe..

Anyway I heard it's also coming for iOS so I'll keep a close eye to this.. Spotify has 18 million songs I believe... Access to more would be nice

Wow free add supported streaming sounds pretty good. I just hope it's not like Pandora where you can't pick and choose.

No from what I've read you can freely choose any song and create playlists etc.

Can I upload my thousands of songs into this music program and play them for free as much as I want to without ads?
