Forums - Nintendo - "no one is playing games on Wii" - Mike Goodman. "ROFFLE!!!" - My response

There's a ton if you count low budget stuff like Furu Furu Park. You named all the bigger ones I could think of, however.

Endless Ocean is 2nd party, as its published by Nintendo. This means it was developed by a third party, however, so perhaps you could argue this one.

But Disaster:DoC is straight out first party now. Developed by Monolith, a subsidiary of Nintendo, and published by Nintendo.

Bleh, could have sworn that one was third party.....oh well, got any others you can think of that I should ADD?

As for endless ocean...the line people always use is "3rd party devs" so if the dev is 3rd party the game is 3rd party imo.  I'm kind of anti-2nd party in terms of terminology =P

no its first party

Yeah I doubled checked before responding to Bod, DDoC is definitely 1st party.  But really that just means it should be a fantastic game if it is forced to live up to the Nintendo Seal of Quality.  And really I have to say I would prefer the gaming industry if all games were forced to do so...but a lot of shovelware publishers would choke and die if that happened =P

Think its kinda weird people say those games are all succesfull :S when ps3 or x360 sells that amount people usely scream they have failed.

In my case, Mike Goodman hit the nail on the head, I haven't touched my wii in ages, I'm guessing a good 6months.
I've mostly play my PS2 and DS, got addicted to geometry wars galaxy on my DS lite.

Could it have something to do with the fact that PS3/360 development cost > Wii development cost?

As totalwar said Wii dev costs are much lower, but also I point out again that these #'s are US ONLY.  People saying PS3 or X360 games with those sales have failed are referring to WW sales.  That is a major difference.

Same here making, wii is fun and all, but i hardly play it compared to my 360.

Also sorry, but while the article is a little harsh its also a little true, this is what happens when the console sells to mostly casuals.

 I was being sarcastic. :|
