Microsoft also sells more Xbox consoles than Sony. I also believe Sega sold more DreamCasts than PS2s.

I'm assuming these are just jokes as sony is in 3rd place?  Anyways, I think everybody can agree that XBOX is bigger in the big markets like America and the UK, but other countries Sony is bigger.  Makes them pretty even but will it stay that way?

Id say Xbox because of its edge in English speaking markets, the most relevant markets in gaming.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Xbox is hot in some area's and not so hot in others, playstation is known very well everywhere, xbox usually dominates the english speaking area's other then canada, australia and new zealand.

So playstation

Dunno about Austrailia and NZ, but Canadian tastes in games are nearly identical to the states, just with 1/10th their population.

No poll?

Going to go with playstation globally on this one.

Caribbean. Last time I visited Trinidad and Tobago, it was either PS or a Nintendo device under the TV.

Still playstation globally.

US and UK, xbox is becoming the name that people often use to describe the activity of gaming.

This.

Canada is about equal, but australia and nz are slightly pro ps3, infact the ps3 passed the 360 install base wise last year in australia, and i think it was always ahead in nz.

Most of what you typed here is either irrelevant, off-topic (in addition to some baiting), and sprinkled with much of its own denial. Around the globe, PlayStation is the bigger brand, no matter the spin. That is a fact. Generally, fans of differing brands usually clash, but in here, they all seem to unanimously agree with that.

Whoever finds that offensive, needs to grow up. I dont play that bs, I am a fan of all consoles, despite whichever one I favor most (nintendo).

You can't ignore the fact that the Playstation BRAND went from 150+ mil on ps2, to what will end up being basically half of that (75-80 mil), while Xbox BRAND tripled its userbase. That's a big swing.  A person above said it best, back in the day parents would say "play with their nintendo" then it was "playstation", now people say "Xbox" synonymously w/video games, IN AMERICA (the territory that matters most, by far).  I could a rats if people in Indonesia or some other  insignificant country are still stuck in the past that still associate with sony.  The U.S. are the trendsetters, and people follow shortly after. Xbox has closed the gap in Europe, and will continue that trend in the next gen. As i said, the Japanese are the ones that do their own thing (won't call them xenophobes) they will never embrace Microsoft, but it doesn't matter.   So unless Sony is satisfied being stuck in 3rd place (foreign territory for them) they will have to take some risks, TO ELEVATE THEIR WEAKENED BRAND.

No matter your spin, the PS brand has taken a major hit, is on the decline/downswing, while the Xbox brand is the polar opposite.
