So, Reggie became NoA president a few months before the Wii launched...over these past 6 years, how do you view his performance?...Do you want him to keep his position for the next years or do you think NoA needs a new face?

I think he is doing a fine job. The main company in japan calls most of the shots, so he doesn't have much to worry about. But under his leadership the Wii became one of the best selling systems of all time, and the DS also destroyed everything. i think whatever it is he's doing, he can keep doing it.

I don't see why so many seems to have a problem with him. I mean, he didn't personally choose to push the Xenoblade release...

Sure, just like all other PR guys he is occasionally full of shit, but at least it has a density below average.

More or less. The problem is it's hard to sort out how much autonomy (if any) Nintendo of America has, how much they contributed to Nintendo's overall success in this time and how much the more controversial decisions of NoA can actually be blamed on them, and not on NCL as a whole.

You can't critique someone's performance if you don't understand the level of power they hold.

Therefore, I don't know. What I DO know is that his personality changed (for better or worse) in the way he presents information. I did like his old style better when he wasn't president.

I'd rather he was invisible, NoA should just be to deliver the games made by NCL to the Americas. Localisation, distribution, advertising. Not giving grand statements on direction or having a personality following for its president.

He's a cool dude and a living meme but I'm happy he isn't pulling the strings in europe.

The thing is, I'm not sure if anyone could de a significantly better job. Especially since I don't know the extent of his influence.

I like some of the initiatives he makes in America, like the Nintendo Show 3D, the upcoming TVii app, the aggressive marketing by NOA since the age of the DS/Wii, the improved 3rd party relations with American devs/publishers. It's all pointing to Reggie doing good work. Also, his presentation skills which I found corny are getting much better lately (WiiU presentation had a much better mood and felt less like sales pitches). The digital store needs much improvement to rival microsoft's, but the e-shop is a big step in the right direction. NOA will have much to show on WiiU, we'll be able to judge much better when it releases.

However, the localization effort needs much more work.

He was in the right place at the right time. I would say his performance has been pretty average as I don't think he's really changed or improved much. If he wasn't there, I doubt NoA would be doing any worse. On the flip side, I think others could have done a better job and potentially put them in better positions. He just seems to have gone through the motions passively rather then actively pushing products.
