Forums - Nintendo - How do you feel about Reggie´s performance as NoA president?

I rly like Reggie. Hes by far my favorite spoke person in the industry.

As VP, I would say hes doing a good job, altho I'm tired of seeing alot of bundles/models of consoles launching elsewhere and not here. Same goes with the Operation Rainfall games.

I think his presence in front of the mic has slowly flattened over the years. Almost as if he's becoming bored with his job.

He alright I guess, fun to watch, nothing else I can say since I haven't seen accomplish chartz from him... :)

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

Reggie earned its place in the Trinity

You don't see Euro Satoru in pics like this.

I agree though that he seems to have lost some energy in recent times. I think working with Cammie Dunaway does that to a man

a ridiculous looking guy, with really nice presentation skills, i think hes doing a good job,
i dont get people complaining about NoA, i think the US gets a lot more love from Nintendo than us here in the EU partly thanks to Reggie (iniciatives, showrooms...etc)

I'm not sure but wasn't Nintendo TVii his idea? If he can make that sort of decision then he has to have some power. I highly doubt he decides exactly what games comes over. NoA probably has analyst like Patcher who told him not to bring certain games over that won't sell well. He trusted his analyst and that got him into trouble when it turned out America did want those games. Other than Xenoblade, and Last story I don't see any other large mistakes he's made. Everyone did get mad that he "lied" about Smash Bros release date but he was probably told that date from NCL which he simply repeated.

He was in the right place at the right time. I would say his performance has been pretty average as I don't think he's really changed or improved much. If he wasn't there, I doubt NoA would be doing any worse. On the flip side, I think others could have done a better job and potentially put them in better positions. He just seems to have gone through the motions passively rather then actively pushing products.

What other NOA president have you compared against? Also, as compared to the NOE and NoAustralia presidents, he seems to be the most actively marketing driven tbh.

I'm comparing against other executives in the industry rather then just Nintendo Presidents. To be perfectly honest, I could see any one of them do his job and perform to the same level if not better. If he was to go to another company under more challenging circumstances, I don't see the same happening.

See, the thing is many are quick to judge. If you were to ask Nintendo, they would say he has done an excellent job (which is why he is till President) and that's because he is doing what he is told to do and saying what he is told to say. Whether we like it or not its not really his fault why some games do not make it as I'm sure his voice has little influence on localization. Not only that, he has is job on the line. And to add to that, he is the first person to hold this position so who do we compare him too?

Cammie is gone, baby.

She was fired some time ago, I think. I would give her the foot the moment she died on the first goomba at E3 NSMB Wii demo. No Nintendo employee can die on the first goomba!!!!!
