We get a fair bit of latitude on dealing with offensive content. In this case, one has to read between the lines and address the sexist undertone.

This isn't a bad thread idea (and you cited something. A rare treasure hereabouts) you just presented it poorly.

sexist? dear Lord, another witch hunt to find sexism/racism anywhere and everywhere.

if anything its liberalist. me poking fun at sandra fluke is now sexist?

Of course. The liberals try to appeal to the intellect of mankind, the conservatives aim at more basic instincts.*

The implication that she's a slut because she wants birth control coverage is not only demeaning to her, personally (which might be acceptable, because yeah, we bash public figures all the time) but also towards women in general, which is not.

public figures are open to scrutiny. she is a very public figure. i couldnt care less if she uses birth control. if i said i slept with some porn star. is that sexist too?

first its a joke about her wanting me to pay for her birth control and 2nd its a joke on how much she claims to spend on birth control.

I thought the claims that she was a slut came from the quantity of birth control that she wanted ...

From what I remember, I though she wanted $3000/year for women which worked out to be enough for the Pill and a couple of condoms for every hour of the day.

well compared to what Obama thinks you neeed, she is pretty much a virgin.

Could it be that pretty woman are happy with what the world gave them and don't want it to change and ugly women are pissed at the world for making them ugly so they want change?

There are indeed exceptions to this rule, but it is true. I've noticed and talked to other people about this for years. Conservative women tend to be more attractive.

I hesitate to say this only because some people will take offense even though I'm only making an honest observation...but people on government assistance (predominantly liberal/Democrat) tend to look far less attractive than people who pay their own way/ come from money. Blanket statement, people. Not trying to be a dick.
