this is not new
i own True crime 1 and 2, and always thought it outclassed GTA in many areas, such as fighting and shooting mechanics

Oh, never played those. None of those were hailed like this game was to my recollection. This game was the big surprise coming out in the same week as Darksiders 2 and outscoring it. I am also a big fan of how United Front has been working with Sony and they did an ace job on this game for sure. Perhaps its not new but this is definitely a standout title. Judging by the sales its not common sense how great this game is, but hopefully the interwebs flare up like it did for Arkham Asylum and Demon Souls when they first came out.

It's a great game, and I like it more than every GTA except for San Andreas (Sleeping Dogs is better in multiple areas compared to San Andreas). But as a whole Sand Andreas is Still my favorite game of this style. It looks and runs gorgeous on PC

Totally surpised me too, I didn't like the true crime games at all, (good ideas but really rough) or Open world games that much. Waas dumped by Activision, and random Western title picked up by SE didn't seem like positive indicators.

The combat system is leagues better than any GTA. It's not as responsive, or has as many gadgets as batman, but it's really fun, and the violence is satisfying.

I only wish it was a bit longer and had airplanes. Hopefully, it sells good enough to warrant SE and United Front Continuing the Franchise, or atleast style of game.

My only problem with the game is Square Enix bright idea to hold the DLC with extra gameplay back until sometime in October. Not very smart. They should've released all of it early.

the DLC with story is coming out even later in october. I think it's just mission packs (SWAT, and Racing) I'm not sure it was SE, or if United front just didn't have the content done yet, I know they patched the PC version quite a lot. It was supposed to release in september.

I knew someone was going to bring up airplanes (LOL). Thats the only thing this game didnt do. Imagine a kill from an airplane with Wei. I hear the DLC with extra missions is coming out.
