Im sure Mass Effect had interest from Nintendo, not sure about people though. Theres no people crying out for Mass Effect since there is no installed base. What Nintendo fans are crying out for are more Nintendo label products with more third party core exclusives. What EA is doing with putting only MS is proving there is no fanbase, but we hope this game sells a couple of units. I dont know if this is a mistake on their part and they didnt think about it, but it sends a bad image about the taste of early adopters that im sure doesnt exist. Let the trilogy launch and then if it passes or fail, that will be the fairest way to decide. There is no Mass Effect experience without the trilogy. |
I'll add that it seems that some Ninty fans are just pissed that the trilogy is being released on the other consoles and not theres. I wonder how much of the ones complaning were even that interested in the series in the first place or is it more a case of I want it on my system just cause. NOW im not saying that they shouldnt have the trilogy on Wii U, they should and i hope they do. As much people as possible should be able to play it.

I wanted to play it on Wii U. I haven't owned any of the games. Now there's no point in bothering with Wii U. I'll just buy them on PC.

I think he was making a point of how this situation and Bayonetta 2 are not comparable.

Normally, half assed to decent ports of games made for other systems. Maybe a rushed sequel.
You can actually see that happen a few times with the Wii. The Call of Duty games got decent ports because despite everything they initially sold decently. Not as much as the PS3/360 versions would go to do once the brand really blew up, but sold decently. Resident Evil 4 sold over a million, they released the on rail Umbrella Chronicles which sold over a million and then Darkside Chronicles which sold decently despite some flaws and a bad release window.
It ultimately depends on how badly they want the title to tank. A decent reception for ME3 probably at best means, the Wii U will receive a Dragon Age 3 port, it doesn't mean a they will put much effort into original software designed for the system unless they stumble upon a niche or accept the Wii U as the new standard. If it fails, they can say there isn't a market and not put any effort into ports or original software.
@archer9234 but were you going to get ME3 for wii U anyway?? Prior to the knowledge of the trilogy set. Cause i dont see how the trilogy release would discourage you from getting 3 on Wii U. you could have bought the games at anytime for PC
Endlessly trying to dissuade people from getting the Wii U version of games. There is a word for this, I just have to remember it.

Because seeing the trilogy for the same price on a other consoles shows me that it's a stupid a** deal and that I am seriously getting screwed wich will result in me putting my money elsewhere.
And for multiple console owners (like me) who never bought a ME game because of lack of money/time/or interest at the time will deffinetly buy the trilogy. I have a PS3, never bought ME2 or ME3 because I had other things to play at the time and wasn't particulary interested. Now that I heard all the hype for these games it started to attract my attention. ME3 on Wii U is aimed at ppl new to the series and I was slightly interested in buying it despite the fact that you had to play previous games to enjoy it because my way of thinking was that If I had to play 1 of these games, might aswell play the latest port on the Wii U and finaly know what all the fuss will be about for when they launch new ME games because if I bought ME2 I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy it also anyways cause I would'nt have played the first 1. But now, despite the Wii U version being aimed at new ppl to the series, they launch a trilogy that is ALSO aimed at new ppl to the series like me.
Now, I'm not the only one in my situation, I'm certainly not the only multiplatform owner guy who is going to buy a Wii U and never played a ME game. So tell me, the other ppl like me, what are they going to do? Buy ME3 for 60$ while seeing right next to it on the shelves a trilogy for the same exact price reminded you just how much you are getting ripped off? Or buy the trilogy? Me, I know I'm getting neither cause that d1ck move from EA angered me and I already did'nt like them so I'll pass on giving them any of my moner for now.
And even for ppl who are not multiplat, let me ask you something. You are in a restaurant, among all the things you can order, you can get a hamburger nothing else included for 10$. Now you know this is overpriced and that other restaurants sell the SAME hamburger for the same price BUT with lots of fries, a big drink and a salad included. What would you do? What would any ordinary ppl in that situation do? Order that hamburger knowing that you are getting screwed and that it's not a good value? Or simply say ''F*ck it, that thing is deffinetly not worth 10$, imma buy a pizza instead''? Your question is the same as asking ''Why would a hamburger/fries/drink/salad combo for 10$ offered in other restaurants would discourage you from getting the 10$ hamburger from the restaurant you are currently in?'' I don't see what is so hard to understand, and if you still cant get it, then you are clearly closing your ears to hear only what you wanna hear and dismissing everything else to convince yourself that you are right.

If you are or were ever interested in it, buy the trilogy. I dont really get what the issue is, with you or someone in your boat, its not like you are not able to play these games, but you are choosing not to. What difference does it make WHAT system you play it on as long as you can play it, thats just me. Unless you are really hard up to give Ninty your money and not SOny or MS, which in that case you can simply not buy anything. Its not a hard decision. Yes it was a dick move, but for who? Its not like everyone is getting screwed, yes its messed up what they are doing for the Wii U versions, but me personally Im not going to miss out on good games i want to play because of that. And even for ppl who are not multiplat, let me ask you something. You are in a restaurant, among all the things you can order, you can get a hamburger nothing else included for 10$. I don't see what is so hard to understand, and if you still cant get it, then you are clearly closing your ears to hear only what you wanna hear and dismissing everything else to convince yourself that you are right. Personally? I would just buy the damn hamburger if I WANTED that badly. If I have no choice and I cant get to another restaurant and I wanted a hamburger, not pizza. Luckily for me I rarely have to make that decision. I have a quiry, considering that the Wii U isnt even out yet would most of the people that are mad at this be Wii only owners?? Wouldnt most of those owners said screw it and bought what ever system they needed to in order to play ME games if they really wanted too? Or is this more of a "its the principal" thing. FYI im not on EA's side on this, I'm just not going to make a stink about it, considering it doesnt effect me and I'm sure it doesnt effect most ME fans. |
