I think there is something biological with people, especially boys from 13-22 or so that leads to territorial extremes. When I was a kid it was Atari/Intellivision/Oddesy 2 between me and my close friends we each had one, so it worked out great. We got to benefit from each other's games. We would go to each other's house and play, depending on which game we wanted to play.

However, we were all Atari Computer people and there was an Atari/Apple war. Atari people would argue theirs is the best, Apple people would do the same. Same sort of fandom as today's rivalries.

It is more fun when you have them all. But if you only have one, you tend to get really attached to it.

I'm divided on this one.

On one hand, fanboys make the majority of reasonable, easy-going video game fans look like rabid, reactionary children. The Bayonetta incident was one of the worst I've seen.

On the other hand, it's fun to debate which console is better, just like it's fun to argue which game is better, which controller is better, which developer is better. As long as those debates can be held in a civil way, I think they are actually quite constructive.

We need to validate our choice.

Yo - looks like the consoles are all selling pretty good. Also my problem with sony came from the customer care of the ps2 and them not willing to even fix it or replace anything. The ps2 broke on me multiple times with Sony giving me the big f-you!

So I bought into xbox. Yes I got Xbox 360 and when I did get RROD, Guess what? I walked into walmart and the customer service over at MS was so good that Wal-mart took a new one out and gave me a brand new core on the spot. Now that's the difference between the two, One will not admit the problem and screw you and one will spend a billion to make sure you are happy. So Let the war continue.

It's something you can't really stop, the best you can do is keep the argument or discussion constructive.

It's just a form of human behavior that you find virtually everywhere, whatever decision or purchase you made you will find yourself trying to justify and defend it to others.
