Forums - Gaming - Why can't we forget about the Console Wars...?

Actualy console "wars" has worked very well over the years. It fuels the need to compete with one another to see which is the best (both through gamers and console manufacturers). But from what your describing are the minority who don't truely represent the console war. Thoes who are part of the minority are just a bunch of "elitists" who feel so superior that anyone else who doesn't share the same interests in their console of choice is an infidel or inferior.

Now im not saying that all who prefer playstation, xbox or wii are bunch of fanboys. You can have your console of choice while being repsectfull to other console loyal gamers.

It's just that these fanboys in numbers have been growing larger in recent years. Thats why you see them more often. This upsurge in their numbers which I believe, has been caused by this generation; with the popularity in the boom of graphics and everything thats HD.

Around the Network

To be honest, I think most people get over it by the time they can actually buy stuff with their own money. When you're a kid your parents will usually give you a choice of one console, and all the other kids will have a similar problem. This just leads to both sides wanting to convince themselves that there isn't anything they could possibly be missing out on, since they already enjoy what they have now, and in turn this leads to many arguments. The arguments are what leads to brand fanboys... they'll just keep asking for the next console by the same brand because it's what they enjoy and they don't want to admit the other side can be just as enjoyable.

First thing is first, James Cameron graphics in PS3? LOL No. PC cant even do that and is light years ahead of PS3. Everything else you said is correct. This generation truly does need to end though

I honestly don't see a problem with having console debates and whatnot.

People have been debating and arguing about LAKERS vs CELTICS for decades, right?
Some people like to debate and argue PC vs MAC, right?
How about FORD vs CHEVY?

So why can't people have their console debates?
So what.

Like I said before, I am a debater. Debates don't bother me, but when it turns into an heated arguement with curses flying in each others' directions, then it irritates me.

Funny how you used the Celtics and Lakers as an example...Lets go Celtics!
