Forums - Gaming - Has the iOS6 Maps application screwed up for you?

I'm curious. The Internet is throwing its typical fit over the new Maps application but for me personally, I have yet to see it screw up. It has given me good directions and the only hiccup has been that it couldn't find one business I was searching for (which I simply submitted to Apple using the application).

So, has it screwed up for you? What are your *personal* experiences with the app?

Rendering errors are a pretty hilarious but harmless problem. I think that's testament that Apple rushed out the software a little more quickly than they would have liked (the entire app kind of feels that way, IMO).

Actually, it's the Google one which had the worst rendering in that photo.

I, personally, have had no experience. I've oly got a 3GS, so I don't think I get iOS6. If I do, I haven't upgraded, yet (data in HK is PRICEY).

It's worked great for me...no problems yet. (I'm from the UK though, and apparently it's more of a problem in non-UK/US countries)

Why does the top left one say "Google Earth"? I thought this new maps application wasn't associated with Google?

 

I haven't used the new maps yet as I almost never need directions anywhere. I'll look around with it today and see if it would potentially screw up any of my routines.

Not a heavy maps user, myself, but I found one problem. Not so much a maps problem as a Siri integration problem. Siri would search for a location "center" and fail to find it. A text search in maps with spelling "centre" found the location just fine.

One thing Maps did find for me is a really nice transit app for my city.

Actually, 3GS does get iOS6, albeit with a number of features disabled. Reports around the web say it runs pretty well:

Might want to make sure Apple's maps have good data in HK first, though.

Looks pretty good, the only downside (aside from maps) is the mail slowdown... which I don't use. Facebook integration and Do Not Disturb are very good, though.

Still, I'll wait until Google Maps is released for it. I use mapping features on my phone a lot, to find places to eat, etc.
