Forums - Gaming - RE6 Demo, How is it ?

The first time I played it I liked the Leon campaign but it got sort of boring towards the end. I couldn't bear the Chris campaign and I was happy when that one ended and sorta liked Jake's Campaign.

I gave it a second chance yesterday, played with Leon again but this time I played it differently, I started doing combos, using the dodge moves and the slide move, running towards zombies and pushing them and then shoot and combo them, pulled some stealth kills on some zombies, etc... and it felt a hell of a lot more satisfying, I must say I really liked it when I played it like an action game instead of a TPS.

After that I played Jake's campaign but I picked Sherry this time, I did the same... I liked doing that kill where you shoot an enemy in the face and run to melee him, It's a pretty cool move... and I also slided a lot and dodged to the sides a lot with those enemies that make smoke and shoot things from their mouth I think, I felt like I was super Sherry or something, lol.

I didn't really try Chris' campaign again because I really hated that one the first time and I don't think it can get better like the other 2... but I must say that I really loved the other 2 the second time, the controls felt bad the first time but the second time they felt pretty good, it was sort of more satisfying than RE5 at least for me. I'm eagerly waiting for the game, just two more weeks and it's finally here :D.

Chris campaign looks like a Cod game but much much worse... what a piece of crap.

RE Zero is the last great classic RE experience
the franchise is dead for me if they keep this path
still, RE Revelations had some really good moments in between those boring action parts, so the hope is not completely lost

Yep, good point. I never played it though. I didn't have a GC when it came out and for some reason I never picked it up after I did buy a GC. I should get it and the RE1 remake and pretend that RE as a survival horror series isn't dead.

oh yea you should definitely pick up the RE1 remake, that one is amazing

I played the demo you got with Dragons Dogma code
It's disappointing! Especially to someone who played resident evil 1-2-3-code Veronica.
You SE those games had atmosphere, they had moments that made you jump as it draws you in. You were very vulnerable in a zombie world where ammo was very limited. Even the standard zombies were hard to kill (especially if doing it melee) and sometimes you just had to run. Also zombies were zombies, slow unintelligent blood sucking beings.

But this demo shows that everything those games had has now gone! Just like resident evil 5 ammo is everywhere! There is no atmosphere in the game, And you do not feel vulnerable...at all. I actually went through the the whole demo just melee attacking the zombies and easily breezed through. Also the zombies had Guns!! Yes guns! And we're very cleverly running and taking cover from my shots as I also ran and took cover from the shots!
Why the hell does it feel like I'm playing COD in third person when I'm playing a resident evil game??

Seriously Capcom seem to have messed up! It just doesn't feel like resident evil at all! Disappointed.

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

i thought it sucked completely horrible

camera way to close to character my head hurt after a few minutes of playing its that bad

idk if it was the demo but graphics looked worse than re5

solo play should not have an ai partner for a horror game at least this time i dont have to baby sit

i also wasnt feeling the atmosphere and story and dont like the 3 character split

since thers nothing else coming out this year gta5 tlou if im bored i might pick it up trophys look easier than re5 and i played all the rest of them

I knew I shouldnt have booked a week off work for this game. Looks pretty crap. What happened to this franchise?

The guys that made the good ones left Capcom after RE 4.

I played it in co-op with the intention of having a fun co-op shooter sort of time.

The demo is awful.

Worst RE yet. I played Leon's scenario demo, spent 90% of the time just casually punching and kicking the crap out of zombies because there was absolutely no threat or tension from them whatsoever until the two scripted events where the alarms go off and they start overwhelming you.

The aiming is shit, it takes a ridiculous amount of bullets to finish off enemies (which is why a couple of kicks and a stomp to the head is much more effective), there doesn't seem to be any special limb damage or anything because it makes no difference if you shoot these guys in the leg or the head, they just act like its no big deal half the time.

I'd rather an HD re-remake of the first game than this crap.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Think I'm going to play some Revelations tonight (haven't seen it in action on my XL yet). Then I'll cry myself to sleep thinking what could have been with 6.

I played it last night, all three available chapters. It does seem that they are making an attempt to give gamers what they want, as in an old-school RE experience, but if those are your expectations going in then you'll probably want to wait and see before you purchase.

That being said, I did enjoy much of what was available, some random joined my game and it was a lot of fun while we played together.

But two big technical issues are obvious, the lighting is terrible and the camera is awful when you get into critical combat situations. It is just a demo, so maybe those things will be improved upon release.

I wasn't planning on buying this day one, and the demo didn't change that.
