Having never played Resident Evil before I tried this and quit fairly quickly. I just found it rather dull and boring. I started the Leon campaign, which had an overly-dramtic and uninteresting opening cutscene, after which the characters passed several zombies that appeared to be sleeping, and were annoyed that they'd been woken up and attack. Also felt the controls and character actions were substandard.

Probably need to give it more go but from first impressions it fails as a horror game because its not scary, and its fails as an action game because its boring.

Had this preordered but now I might cancel it. They got the Jill section in RE:Revelations right and the Chris sections were bearable to play so why do they keep taking steps backwards? ZombiU will hopefully be as good as it looks. Maybe it will be the new RE since DS is also going the shooter route as well.

Guys Capcom is so untrustworthy right now, that I don't even know if I'll be buying re6...

I haven't played a Resident Evil since RE Code: Veronica on Dreamcast. I loved that game, but it really was the last true Resident Evil. Turning the series into an action shooter with RE4 may be good for business, but it's not what I want from survival horror.

I knew I shouldnt have booked a week off work for this game. Looks pretty crap. What happened to this franchise?

RE Zero is the last great classic RE experience
the franchise is dead for me if they keep this path
still, RE Revelations had some really good moments in between those boring action parts, so the hope is not completely lost

Yep, good point. I never played it though. I didn't have a GC when it came out and for some reason I never picked it up after I did buy a GC. I should get it and the RE1 remake and pretend that RE as a survival horror series isn't dead.

It does appear that the franchise is on its last legs. Revelations was great but 6 looks like its going to suck ass big time. I feel I need to mourn.

you should, its great game, the Wii port is now available for 14 pounds, it should be dirty cheap around there too!!!
