The guys that made the good ones left Capcom after RE 4. |
Well it sounds like they need to re employ them pronto. I dont want to live in a world where RE is a meh shooter. Sort it out Capcom!

they might want to sort it out if sales are getting worse, but reality is RE5 was the best sold RE, so right now they will walk that road full steam ahead

Like Lafiel said, the franchise is selling well, so I don't think it will happen soon.
But I doubt that Capcom will ask PlatinumGames for help even if the sales of RE or DMC drop.
Three parts: I downloaded it and played it last week. I've had it for a few months now by purchasing Dragon's Dogma.
Part 1: Leon's Part: I only played as Leon. I will give this a 8.9 out of 10. It threw me back to the original Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3 experience without the bad camera angles.
Part 2: Chris Part: I only played as Chris. It's basically an action shooter. You can move while shooting now, and you get a rifle and a hand gun with grenades. The only way I see this being interesting to me is if they don't give you any healing items. I felt when too overpowered, and I rarely lost any health until the end sequence. (I will add that I didn't like the intro movie of Chris being wasted and needing help from his military buddy. Too cliche and lame for my taste). Rating: 7.5 out of 10.
Part 3: New characters and I played as the male one. I don't know if it is because I'm not attached to any of these new characters but I died right of the top. It annoyed me. The second time through I got all the way to the warehouse and died again. I explored and picked up all the weapons and fired at all the exploding barrels. I got bored. Rating: 6.0 out of 10.
In conclusion, I liked Leon's story mostly because of Nostalgia. The rest seemed pretty action based redone video games for me. The graphics looked good, and I don't know if the story will be good, but I'm not attached to the new characters and Chris story with overly powerful military weapons kind of killed the experience for me.
I think most people fail to realize that the RE games pre 4 have aged terribly, and does not play well today.
I have not tried 6 yet though.
The camera is shit. It's so close you may think it was an FPS
the graphics are one of the most beautifull i've seen in p3 and made me think i dont need a ps4 right now... but the gameplay feels like a boring gears of war (without the cover)
For the record
The Leon part is totally non-interactive while containing almost no scares and pitiful atmosphere
It combines the worst parts of both the old REs and RE5, which is terrible.
