Where are the games?

in the factory being stomped to discs as we speak.

Next gen graphics games.

where were the next gen gfx games when 360/ps3 launched? As per my video upload previously.

Gears of War and Resistance 1 look way better than COD 3.. and everything exclusive on the ps3 after 2006 looks better than COD 4 and onwards.. on ps3

Gears of War was not a launch title, nor a launch window title.  But I agree, it was the first game that really showed off what the 360 could do other than higher resolutions.  I think you'll see an equivalent title for WiiU 6 months or so after launch that will show what it really can do.

"...and whether developers would be able to make use of all of Unity's latest high-end technology on Nintendo's newest console, including the ability to make use of Unity 4's DirectX 11 equivalent features and shaders. Hegalson replied with the following..."

"Yeah. We'll do a -- we'll make it potentially possible to do."

LOL what kind of a response is that? I wouldn't be getting my hopes up over this...

He started it off with "Yeah" and I think he's trying to be obscure.  That's how I took it at least, especially when he started off with "We'll do a" (sounds like something more elaborate was intended to be said first).   That's mere speculation on my part, though.

I was thinking that too.  I don't think he's really at liberty to speak about this due to the omnipresent Nintendo overlords.  They're always listening.  He wanted to go into further detail but I don't think he was allowed to.

My reason for believing this to be the case: "When pried about the actual clock speeds, shader limits and memory bandwidth of the Wii U's GPGPU, Hegalson tried waving off the question, basically saying that it was up to Nintendo to disclose that information".

The denial is just epic. The meltdown. When you've got this amount of haters downplaying it means something.

Some people will just have to wait a little bit longer for the next gen while Nintendo is stepping up the game and making 7 year old hardware seem obsolete from an UI and graphical standpoint.

the wait will be worth it. nintendo wont have much games to miss till than

if WII U was truely nexgen games would look more than just on par with ps3/360 ip.. also on wii u..

Fail. A console only bolsters graphics as good as the devs that develop for it make them.

Why won't Nintendo put in the effort? If the first party isn't even trying, why would the third parties?

True story, but really I'll just wait for what's to come, you can't really expect Super Mario 2D and Pikmin to bolster graphics, the same goes for Nintendo Land, it's a Wiiseries like title. I'm confident the next Retro studios title, and the tokyo team game (the one behind Galaxy) will put the WiiU in its place, ahead of 360 and Ps3. btw Pikmin is already looking good.

I'm going to mention this in this thread too, just so everyone can see it.

If PS4/720 isn't the quantum leap over current gen that everyone expects and it's a less significant jump up, sort of like what we're seeing with Wii U's first gen games, I'm wondering if these guys will start changing their tune and start singing Sony/MS's praises and suddenly marginal steps are ok.

We'll see. Can't wait to see how big of a leap those consoles will be and how fans react after knocking the Wii U. I anticipate hypocrisy if it plays out like that.

There are no GPGPU use for game. PS3 uses it just for Folding@Home I guess.

nVidia uses for Phisics but the performance is just good with another GPU for that (SLI with one for Game e other for Physics).

I can't see how Nintendo can use that feature.

I remember soon after the launch of the XBox 360 Microsoft set up a display at Walmart and there was a crowd looking at the games playing. A comment that was said more than once was "It looks just like XBox games" ... While that wasn't strictly true, it did show off how launch games failed to impress most people.

While I admit this is cherry-picking screenshots, let's have a look at a couple of XBox 360 launch games:

While these games dont necessarily look 'bad' they don't look impressive next to the kinds of games that are being produced on the 360 today:

Tell that to the Civ V developers. You can use GPGPU to do lots of different things, one of them is fast texture decompression.

You had best leave the thread, now.
