Forums - Microsoft - Will Microsoft ever touch their legacy IPs again? Do they even care!?

haha "some free to play bullshit"

I didn't know they owned Brute Force

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Hey gamers!

So I've been doing some digging, and it shocked me to see how many good IPs Microsoft owns! These are games that many of us loved in our childhood, or some others when they were older because they have no life (nerds)

Anyway, do you think that Microsoft would revive these IPs next generation for the hawdcaw gamers choosing their new consoles? They have so many but are any of them relevant to Microsoft's strategy today? Are they not grimdark shootbang enough?

Do you even want a new Battletoads in the first place? Or are you all too mature (NERDS!) for that now?

Crimson Skies I believe is licensed out, so you may see that game but not developed by Microsoft.  Same with MechAssault and Mech Warrior.  Those IPs are currently licensed out to third-party developers.

Some of those IPs you'll likely never see again unless someone comes along with a great idea for them.  Brute Force and Grabbed By The Ghoulies likely will never see the light of day again.  Neither were very successful commercially.  I think for Microsoft, Epic's Gears of War filled the niche that Brute Force was meant to fill.

A few of those games are just asking for a reboot. But will it happen? idk.

Those to be used: Kameo, Mechwarrior, Killer Instinct, Banjo,

@Badgenome/Roma. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA   Wat's rong with uuuuuuuuuuu???????????????

Crimson Skies was a very good game. Almost all of their other IPs I don't really care for but Crimson Skies made me a little jealous.  Enjoyed playing the game a lot on my friend's xbox.

Not the same game, but Snoopy: Flying Ace uses the same game engine and mechanics.  It's an XBLA game with online game play, much the same as Crimson Skies was for the Xbox.

I don't care for any of the IP's that are not being used would love if they would make a sequel to Lost Odyssey. Which I think is more of their IP then Blue Dragon, since Blue Dragon also had a game on the DS so I'm not that sure of how much control MS has of that IP in the first place.

Some will eventually return ... even if takes 20+ years to do so.

or 50...
But in videogames, every mildly famous game has a shot of coming back. Except Brute Force.

Big difference with MS is that if they pursue a retail exclusive, they want to make sure it sells millions guaranteed.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Off course they'll return! Shortly after The Last Guardian releases. ;)

Freelancer 2, please.

No love for Fusion Frenzy. Had a blast playing Fusion Frenzy 2 on my frien'ds 360 when it first came out. They could come out with a Kinect version.
