Forums - Nintendo - Tekken Tag 2 on Wii U new trailer

Good news:

Having trouble remembering Iwatsubute or Spiral Rocky? Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition puts a move list at your fingertips. Similar to Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition lets players scroll through moves instead of assigning attacks to virtual buttons like Tekken 3D Prime Edition.

“We foresee a lot of players new to the series will join this installment. It does make it easier for novices because you can just push a shortcut to execute commands,” said Katsuhiro Harada to a small group of press.

“When you get better at the game and in high level play, there are some techniques that are better with the controller itself and not the shortcuts,” Harada continued. “A lot of people good with Tekken won’t even need the shortcuts. For example, the Wind God Fist, a staple of the Mishima’s that launches your opponent if you do that quickly, a more improved version of the technique will come out that is not available in the shortcuts.”

Harada said the team is still deciding if the touch screen move list will be available for online play.

Harada is also considering to make the Nintendo exclusive Mushroom Battle mode online-enabled. While the Tekken team is still ironing out details about the Wii U’s online features, Harada said latency or the lack there of will be the same as the PS3 and Xbox 360 version.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for Wii U will also have all available DLC characters from the PS3 and Xbox 360 version unlocked on Wii U. Harada didn’t confirm if this includes pre-order bonus fighters like Ancient Ogre and Michelle.

Finally, Harada also teased there are more features for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition that he hasn’t shown yet. Also, not all of the content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has been revealed yet.

They only show some mushrooms in there.

There's also the poison shroom and the star... probably the first makes you lose health and the other makes you invincible for some time (I know, I know... very difficult to get to this conclusion)

Still on the fence about this game. If by march there's no other fighter available, tekken it is.

or a rage for star... i cant wait

Looks sexy. Those Nintendo themed outfits are hilarious.

Tekken is the best selling fighting franchise of all time though?! I thought for sure that crown belonged to the Street Fighter series. Someone put up some chartz... I demand it!

Edit:  Just looked both franchises up on Wiki really quick... they have the SF series at ~33 million units, and the Tekken franchise at ~40 million units.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Looking forward to grabbing a star and running through my opponent for a one-hit KO!

Wow, I had no idea about the costume crossovers. I thought for sure I'd be bored watching that trailer, but it turned out to be hilariously awesome. I.... kinda want this game.

Best thing about this game is free DLC though.

Anyone know how much they're charging for those?

Piece of shit adobe is constantly fucking up on me. So I can't watch it without repeatedly upgrading the flash.
