People say that, but price drops and redesigns always, always cause a surge in sales. There will always be people who have an upper limit on what they will pay for a console, or for a second console, and price drops often move these people to act.
Sales explosion this late... lol
Wii U will own this holidays, Xbox will be 2nd and Ps3 will be 3rd, with or without price cut.
If Sony Price Cuts Microsoft will do the same so it will be the same.
But good news Wii U will have competition but they will still own this holidays, never understimate Nintendo, they are Gods.

I had nothing to do with a 120GB and I bought it just to put a Momentus XT HDD.
I threw away the 120GB HDD.
Why do the console's get uglier each time. Sony needs an entry level PS4 to compete next gen as MS picked up a big share of the market having a cheap arcade model for years, that needed a hard drive and a wireless attachment. They couldn't match cause the abilty to use a 3rd party hard drive. Sadly I doubt we will ever see this option again.

i do remember the motherboard rumors, but slim was a wild guess by the media and i never saw any photos before the MS conference.
there was hope for the price cut but no evidence anywhere... i think MS did a better job than Sony is doing now... but maybe they want this... rumors are publicity and that is never bad. even bad publicity is good publicity...

A wild guess picked up by numerous sources that turned out to be completely true? I don't think so. Either way your original post was totally wrong.
As for one of the two doing a better job, I think it's a pretty well established fact that at this point Sony is a leaky ship, almost everything gets out. (Although they did manage to keep TLOU a secret, rare in this day and age for Sony.)
