Forums - Nintendo - What last generation HD franchise do you want to be the next Wii U exclusive?

Oh, how about Uncharted, God of War, Gears of War and Forza?

God of War, Uncharted and Forza would be out of the question, however Gears as far as I know isn't a property of Microsoft.  It doesn't matter about Gears though as I could play that on my x360.  It's the Sony 3rd party exclusives that I am salivating over...esp the Japanese ones.

Why are some people acting like just because Nintendo decided to financially back a 3rd party for exclusivity, they're suddenly going to start throwing money at 3rd parties next gen?

Because they're clueless.

Not as clueless as some Sony or Microsoft fanboys (who by the way are pathetic in their meltdowns as of late).  Nintendo has been evolving in their strategy as of late; just look at the Nintendo direct announcemnts to see the diffrence.  They also have been pro-active in their aquisitions of exclusives as of late ie Monster Hunter Tri, MH4(it won't come to the PSV esp with it's pathetic sales so give up Sony drones), Samurai Warrior 3, Fatal Frame,  Dragon Quest X, KH:DDD Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's edge, Rayman Origins, Zombie U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, etc.  If the Wii U ends up selling 14-18mil before PS4 even comes out (a very strong likelyhood it will), Kingdom Hearts 3 would surely be a good candidate for a Wii U exclusive!!!

Do you expect anyone to respond to such an inflammatory post?

By the way, I wasn't the one who became combative by calling people clueless.

Plus, we'll surely get FF and all the other HD franchises on WiiU, if not as exclusives, at least as multiplatforms.

That's the plan...an even playing ground in terms of 3rd party titles.  With a year head start and the next generation system not being that drastically diffrent with each other technically; Wii U might score some 3rd party exclusives usually reserved for the other two competitors.  It all starts with AAA 3rd party exclusives to attract the broad-minded portion of the core gamers; which Nintendo is doing everything to attract.  The typical Sony or Microsoft bot won't matter as they have surely made up their mind with their bias.  It's the REAL core gamers who ENJOY GAMES REGARDLESS OF PLATFORM, that Nintendo is trying to woo.

Nice one, as that would truely attract the West.  Though I haven't really played the original one and is still shrink wrapped on my shelf.

I guess only time will tell.

I, for one, do not believe Nintendo gives a squat about swaying third-party companies into releasing multiplatform titles on the Wii U otherwise they wouldn't have built their hardware with such limited technical capacities compared to the rumored Xbox 720/PS4 and with a such different and unique controller output that will certainly turn off developers from making a worthy use of the gamepad.

I would like to see Nintendo fund Kingdom Hearts like they're doing Bayonetta, but not for the exclusivity.

No. No, I want to see Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, incorporating Disney, Square, and Nintendo properties into one game.

That'd be awfully sweet.

I can't think of many last-gen HD franchises. I assume there were PC games that could run in 720p or 1080p circa 2002-2005? I'ld imagine you would have had to have a really boss PC though.

Limited capability?  The Wii U, with the announce specs should be around 4x more capable than a PS3 or the very least 3.5x(hence the meltdowns that it isn't weaker than last gen HD systems).  Anyways, since nothing had been formally announced by Sony or Microsoft I am highly suspect about the said rumors; as you could see by the type of fanboys they have could be highly boosted!!!  I actually expect the power diffrence to be somewhere between the PS2 vs GNC vs Xbox1, .with the Wii U being the PS2 (at very worst it would be a boosted DC compared to PS2 or GCN).

eh? .. CPU and GPU specs haven't been announced, so there is no telling how it ranks up against a PS3, although the games pretty much show that atleast the GPU should be more capable
