I agree i dont think theyll sell 40 million...but 1 billion units!!! Lol but in all seriousness, time will tell. Let's wait and see how the Wii U performs in the years to come. All I know is that ppl will enjoy the WiiU and thats all that matters to me ;)

Monster Hunter Ultimate comes out next year for US and EU right? Japan gets it first :( , but if theres a MH bundle in EU then you should definitely get one. Smash Bros, accroding to Sakurai, is  coming out in 2013, or atleast aming for it in holiday 2013. Another reason to get a Wii U ;) . NSMB.U isn't bad. C'mon look at the art graphics this time...Mario in HD! Oh well, let's wait for the next 3D Mario for Wii U.

How young are most of you guys? This always (always!) happens at console launches. Well, not the selling-out-after-one-day part but shortages at console launches are pretty common. All 3 current consoles were supply constrained at launch (but only for the Wii it became a lasting problem). The PSP was sold out in Europe as well. Same happened to the PS2... yeah, it's pretty much the norm for a new consoles to sell out at launch.

The good news is this: You will find a place to pre-order if you keep looking. After a while retailers will take pre-oders again and they will reserve hardware for launch so even in that case you could still try to walk into a store early in the morning and just pick up the console on launch day.

As for me I pre-ordered the premium model + Super Mario Bros. on Amazon. Amazon usually tries to match the cheapest price at launch so I should be good to go. Yeah!

I wonder if they're trying to make a supply problem to increase demand.  Or rather, was the lack of Wii's a manufactured problem to creat supply and they're just reusing the same tactic?

I don't think so. They already know it's gonna sell no matter what. With a Mario  game at laucnh, Nintendo knows families are going to buy the system. With Black Ops 2 at launch, Nintendo knows core gamers will buy it at launch . They don't have to do a publucity stunt to hype up the console. What's interesting to me is that based on the video interview that I posted just right now is that Nintendo of America has to buy the units from Nintendo of Japan to have units sell 'em here in the Americas. You should watch the interview its pretty interesting what Reggie has to say. I think my reason for the low stock is because it is low in stock. They didn't make enough units right now or exceed their estimate unites to be made Or, maybe they are still tweaking the system to add more stuff like the optical thingy for the sound. I forgot 'cause ppl are complaining it diesnt have it on the Wii U. Nintendo have to step it up to meet demand.
