Forums - Nintendo - According to Malstrom, there´s word going around that Reggie is looking to jump ship..

kind of hard to miss how he was at the conference... maybe he is having personal problems outside work

I hope its not work related and that whatever is on his mind gets solved for him soon!

rove you Reggi! :S

Even if this is the case. It doesn't imply anything about the company. I am sure many of you are going to run riot on it with insinuations about it being a bad work environment. When it could just be that the work environment may not be meeting his needs. Perhaps he would like a job that allows for less travel, or would allow him to spend more time with his family. Maybe he wants to make more money. Maybe he finds another industry more compelling. Maybe he would just want a change of scenery.

There are a lot of reasons to leave a job, or change jobs that have nothing to do with a particular job itself being a bad job. Fuck he might just want to work in a more hospitable climate. Say one that never sees snow, or where it isn't raining every other day. In the dead of winter how many of us think the exact same thing.

I am not saying it is true, but why think of the possibility in only negative terms.

True. Look at Peter Moore. 360 went on to become a solid success, but the way he ditched by 2008 (or was it 2007?) you'd think he was a rat jumping off a sinking ship

Sometimes your heart just isn't in it anymore, even if the company is doing well or you're still doing good at your job.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

He seemed rather tired to me, but from that to ''Reggie wants to jump ship 100% confirmed, he hates nintendo, will be joining microsoft shortly''. hahahaha i mean, well... internet logic at his finest. Maybe his body just needs some rest, maybe not, but you won't find the answer in speculation.

I'll admit, Reggie does seem a bit off lately.

I'll agree with this. His personality has dimmed a lot since the days of my avatar. I believe that is mostly due to the hardships and experience that come with being President and not just the head PR guy.

I don't know where all of Malstrom's arguments come from, but is there proof to back any of his acusations up? The Virtual Boy one, for example.

Also, Reggie doesn't seem depressed to me. He seems calm and focused on information and facts. He's not the same big personality he used to be, but he's not supposed to be that anymore. That's just the way things are (and yes, I do miss those old days).

wii u interview with him

This was a fantastic interview! My hype for the Wii U has really died down over the last few weeks due to all the skepticism in the press, but this video sparked my interest once again.. =)

I seriously think thats bs I mean he chose to be the center of Nintendo of America in terms of PR etc so he could step back from that and still be president.

Satoru Shibata on the other hand the European president is a person I didnt know untill this year and Reggie is someone I know for like 10 years now? And I am european.

And we all call him Reggie and like the "my body is ready" stuff etc

So I don't really have the feeling he is hated or something.
There is just a bunch of jrpg idiots that hate him for ignoring xenoblade etc (which is not teven true)
(I like jrpg myself but Im not a whiny baby like the people I talk about so the term "idiots" is refering to those who bitched about it without knowing a damn thing and is not ment to offend someone here at vgchartz)

So the only people who hate him or blame him for anything are those few people that already forgot about the whole thing by now. I think he is sorta goofy but I like him anyways. I also like Iwata somewhat   both are better than the Sony guys that always seem so arrogant  lol

Good, let Sony or M$ have "Reggie the Robot". The kickin' ass and takin' names Reggie has been dead for quite some time now.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

His body truly wasn't ready.

I am drunk right now, but for some reason this made me laugh maniacally.
