It seems like it's mostly a North American thing so far:
- Nintendo TVii doesn't replace your existing cable box, it works with services you've subscribed to
- asks for your cable provider and zip code
- will support “all” major U.S. and Canadian cable and satellite TV providers
- will not be a Tivo itself, but works in conjunction with it
Netflix has plans to expand to Europe and Latin America in the coming years.
But I doubt if they'll have deals with local cable and satellite TV providers, though maybe in Europe in the future.
To get the most out of this service you need to reside in the US (or Canada), for now.
I'm pretty impressed with it, for the simple fact that it organizes all your shows sports and movies across all different apps, and it's compatible with any cable or dish provider unlike 360 for example which only works with your tv company if you have Verizon Fios or Comcast Xfinity.
Also, I hope there's some sort of app (whether it's official or a mod I don't care) that would allow you to record stuff right to your HDD... that would be sick!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
It's a glorified universal remote that hinges on using my game console for non-gaming stuff. Ergo, not really my thing.
well, I'm talking about the direct integration of those services and the way it interacts with the users that's impressive vs other consoles, not saying I'll use the service or anything. I think this is a pretty big step forward as far as consoles go without requiring additional hardware.

because my tv has some of this already as smart tv function, the rest i care about would be possible with my current consoles or pc and hdmi cable to my tv which i have as durable solution and because i use my smartphone for sport scores and to control my tv and stuff like this and because my internet is too slow to stream movies.
so even if i couldn't already do almost all of that with the devices i own i wouldn't really care atm because of my shit internet. that's why i also don't care for it on my other devices and for normal tv i have my satellite haha
Because Nintendo hates Mexico!
