They are feeling the burn across the internet. The butts are hurting *grabs helmet and sets up sandbags*. I smell the blood lust about.

Woah..., some people are getting banned in GAF over this as well. They really don't like the fact that it is exclusive to the Wii U.

Why can't we just be happy that we are getting Bayonetta 2?

Maybe because they can't play the game on their ideal system.

Resident Evil 4 jumped to GC and did very well for such a small console install base.

Not really when it only sold about 1.4million and the series entries before it were selling 4million+. Hense the reason they hurrily made a PS2 port of it which went on to sell another 3.5million. That is what happens when you keep shaking up a fanbase with switching to different consoles.

What did I just say?   "did very well for such a small console install base."

Did you read "did very well" and ignored the rest?

And it sold 1.6 million on GC and 2.2 million on PS2.  Unless you want to call Capcom wrong on their own figures.

Selling over a million is great sales for a new IP, NOT for an existing IP with a history of selling 4times more than that. That is really BAD! Shareholders of any company would say the same thing.

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Resident+Evil+&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Resident evil 2 = 5.82Million

Resident Evil 3 = 3.7million

Resident Evil 4...

Gamecube = 1.69Million

Playstation 2 = 3.62Million

Sorry if my rushed numbers confused you, the data still stands the same. If it had of stayed a Gamecube exclusive it would have been a flop for the series.

It's funny that Capcom only shipped 2.2 million for PS2 RE4 and 1.9 million for Wii RE4 + 1.6million for the Gamecube. How VGChartz got that number is a mystery

I just told you:

GC - 1.6 million.
PS2 - 2.2 million.

And I just told you..."did very well for such a small console install base."

What part of that last bit continues to confuse you?

I will tell you exactly what this means for Bayonetta 2's sales.......FLOP!!!
What a horrible move. It is fairly obvious most of Bayonetta's fans own the other 2HD consoles and are probably not going to be willing to buy another console JUST for that game.

I don't think moving platforms really matters for this game because

1. it isn't story focused so you don't really have to care if you missed the first game

2. it didn't have amazing sales in the first place so changing to a different platform might not affect the sales at all tbh.  We're not talking about a game that sold millions, we're talking about a game that barely got a sequel.

Only argument I can see for it not doing well is that the Nintendo fanbase won't take to it, but that's pretty hard to predict and remains to be seen.  I'd bet that the second game will do just about as well as the first, if not a bit better with a first party publisher behind it and promoting it.  Also it can establish itself on a relatively new install base.  I have to assume that people that just bought a new console or more likely to give a new IP a shot more so than half way through a console generation.

and that from someone who went crazy against some developers in  threads because some of their games are only ports for wii u without real enhancements or because they don't bring their games also to wii u.

It's definitely an odd decision, but the game isn't destined for failure just yet. Just because an audience was already created on the PS360 userbase doesn't mean that a NEW audience can't be formed on the Wii U. We'll have to wait and see if it flops or not.

Surprised to see that it's an exclusive. However, I didn't really enjoy the first one so I think I'll pass on it.
But it's certainly a great addition to the WiiU lineup if you're interested in it :)

I think ideal system is a dying fashion honestly. Nowadays is pretty commmon for people to own multiple systems.

I can see myself 3 years down the road owning a Ps4, wii u, 3DS, vita and a 2nd/3rd gen Ouyia for android gaming or a new smartphone. And PC of course.
