All Nintendo has to do is put the word "Wii" in the title of every game... even the 3rd party ones (Assassin's Creed Wii, Batman Wii, etc).

All 20m sellers confirmed.

After buying these games in droves, people will then realize that they actually need the WiiU to play them and upgrade.

Win, win for Nintendo.

@ bold

look at my sig and lol, it's the same guy

@ topic

7/10

needs more doom. Also the cheesy "congratulations on being slightly better than 7 year old hardware" is not there.

They don't even master the trolling art. Amateurs.

I think WiiU will do okay but not as good as Wii. I expect 50 to 60 million units sold in the next 5 years.

Would 50-60mil be good enough to come in second or third next gen?

Because a big chunk (60% approx??) of the people who bought the wii were casual gamers when the Wii was the big fad. Now the iphone is the latest fad and has tonnes of cheap/free games to keep kids/ casual gamers entertained. I see kids/casual gamers playing iphone/ipad games the whole time everywhere I go.

a temporary fashion, notion, manner of conduct, etc., especially one followed enthusiastically by a group.

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's a fad. Especially, when it doesn't even threaten your manhood.

Eacxtly, thanks for clearing it up for everybody. The wii was a temporary fashion for the casual gamer. Cool story but I have a wii and an iphone and i can tell you that the Iphone is currently the "COOL" thing to have, just like the Wii was.

And why can't WiiU become the "cool" thing to have after its release?

This article actually isn't that bad. Good coverage of multiple viewpoints, some of whom were actually correct, none of whom seemed to be out to get Nintendo in particular.

I agree that there were some good points, I just found the idea of Apple's conference taking away from Nintendo's kind of silly.  I mean, it's not like Apple is announcing a new console.

I think what they meant was that regular media (NBC/Yahoo etc.) won't be paying attention to Nintendo because of Apple. Gaming websites will most certaintly focus more on gaming.

I'm almost sure it should be enough to finish third, but I cannot tell anything for sure about better rankings!

Buy the Wii U and wait for the iphone 6.

Different markets, so I'm not sure if will be that much of an impact. If it was an Amazon conference, then I would agree, but Nintendo is aiming to sell a new home console, not an updated smartphone.
