I'm gonna get crucified for this, because I've been told its a bad idea, but I don't care. I still would like to see what it would turn out like.

I'd like to see a Legend of Zelda game set in modern time, the near future, or the distant future. Not with humans and whatnot, but with a society that is modern, hylian, and the old legends are regarded as just that, legends. Until an ancient evil returns. But its a thing where it would be a twist about halfway through the game. Ruined cities, ravaged by this evil ancient force that nobody can do anything about, until our hero stumbles upon a secret chamber in a museum or something, and the master sword is revealed. It would have this "OMFG ITS A ZELDA GAME" moment.

I'm describing it very poorly. But I think it would be an interesting direction for the series. Likewise if a sci-fi version were made. Its something completely different, and may not actually be good, but I'd like to see Nintendo branch out the setting a bit from traditional sword and sorcery.

I like the idea, but it would be way to much of a risk for Nintendo. Also It would be weird to fight evil with a sword in a modern or future world when Link could have access to technologie (guns and stuffs). But I would love seeing a future Hyrule, a Scifi world a la Final Fantasy.

Not sure I want Gannondorf as the bad guy. I would rly like to see Vaati in a 3d console game... Or a new demon... Or Vaati and Gannon both teaming up together! OR Vaati and Gannon both having theyr own evil plans but they fight eachother while Link is stuck between the two and have to stop them both!!!

I'd also like to see the magic elements from OoT come back, but with more spells. Maybe even a talent tree where you can choose to improve spells, physical abilities and Musical or travel abilities :D But I dont want a exp system, unlock a new talent point at the end of every dongeon.

As long as the magic is actually useful. I'm not sure if it's possible without it but the only place I ever used Din's fire was the few dozen torches you had to light at the begining of the shadow temple. Nayru's love I think I experimented with a couple of times in the desert, but is ultimately uneeded, and I literally have never used Farore's wind.

Agree, but Din's Fire is necessary to complete the game already, you need it twice; once to open the door to the Shadow Temple, and once inside the Spirit Temple. You can get by with glitching though, but that's not really how it's done. In the Master Quest it's actually quite important because you need to light a lot of torches which are just out of reach or on the other side of walls.

I agree Nayru's Love (the invincibility spell) is pretty useless, but Farore's Wind (the teleport spell) can be quite useful. It meant to be used in places you like to come back to later, like a certain room in a dungeon after you had quit the game, but it's also useful to quickly and efficiently navigate the Water Temple.

Well, it will be in HD, so the size of the game will probably be larger.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Am I the only one here thinking the information in the OP is just a big pile of nonsense? -_-'

Even if this is fake, nothing sounds unrealistic (aside from the GTA budget, lol). I hope Nintendo has learned that Zelda should be released during the first years, and not when the console is dead.

True, and if this rumor is true (about the dongeons being a hundred times bigger) I could imagine Farore's Wind being quite usefull.

Nayru's love could be added into boss fight mechanics. Some phase into the boss fight where it would be a insta kill if you dont use it. Or just make the game harder so I feel the need to use it sometimes to get away from dangerous situation.

For Din's fire, I used it sometimes to kill ennemies when I felt lazy, but I agree that other than lighting some torches, it was pretty useless. But they can add ennemies that can only be killed by fire, or send us hordes of ennemies (like at the end of SS) so we could use Din's fire to wipe them out with a bang!

My point is that I do agree that spells were useless in OoT, but the idea was cool and Nintendo could bring them back as long as they design the game in a way that they (and maybe other new spells) can end up usefull.

Unfortunatelly Zelda is all about primitive weaponry. Producing a Zelda close to Final Fantasy standards with guns and futuristic ships would break its soul.

They could do that with a new IP though.

It would never work in our age of endless leaks. Though if anyone could do it, it's the Nintendo Ninja.

I could see it working out like, with Retro Studios making the first half of the game as a "The Last of Us"-esque Post-apocalyptic survival game, until that "master sword" moment, but one spoiler would kill the whole thing.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I wonder if Nintendo would go as far as offering some items that are more suitable to be controlled with motion or pointer controls, and others that are a better match for buttons or a touch screen. Then let the player decide which ones they prefer to equip on their adventure.

This would effectively give players two different ways to control the game, depending on their love/hate of motion controls, but (more importantly IMO) would also give the game a much more open-ended feeling, similar to traditional RPGs, and therefor add much replay-ability.

Obviously this would require significantly more development effort... but what do you think? Would it be worth it? I think if the items are fun enough to use and the overworld is well made, it could make for a fantastic sandbox experience.

I will join on the cucification cross. Those fake future Zelda images from a while back looked great and IMHO it would really light a fire in the series ass not seen since the series went 3d for the first time. But Ninty doesnt have the balls to do this
