I'm gonna get crucified for this, because I've been told its a bad idea, but I don't care. I still would like to see what it would turn out like.

I'd like to see a Legend of Zelda game set in modern time, the near future, or the distant future. Not with humans and whatnot, but with a society that is modern, hylian, and the old legends are regarded as just that, legends. Until an ancient evil returns. But its a thing where it would be a twist about halfway through the game. Ruined cities, ravaged by this evil ancient force that nobody can do anything about, until our hero stumbles upon a secret chamber in a museum or something, and the master sword is revealed. It would have this "OMFG ITS A ZELDA GAME" moment.

I'm describing it very poorly. But I think it would be an interesting direction for the series. Likewise if a sci-fi version were made. Its something completely different, and may not actually be good, but I'd like to see Nintendo branch out the setting a bit from traditional sword and sorcery.

It would never work in our age of endless leaks. Though if anyone could do it, it's the Nintendo Ninja.

I could see it working out like, with Retro Studios making the first half of the game as a "The Last of Us"-esque Post-apocalyptic survival game, until that "master sword" moment, but one spoiler would kill the whole thing.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
