Í would like a re-evaluation of my moderation history, its to damn long while in reality i went over the line only a few times

Give us a complete list of all your alts and we'll start talking.

just for the record, serious?

Sadly, we can't remove items from the mod history so cleaning your mod history is not an option but if you stop using alt accounts that'll be a step in the right direction.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Goods job but way too inconsistent, some posters get banned for what seems like minor things, other posters seem to roam here and bait/derail threads with impunity.

I think this was aimed at the thread derailment by sales2099 yesterday and that issue has been dealt with but to expand on the subject of inconsistency, here's my take on it.

I feel the easiest moderations are dealt with in a similar manner by all mods. If we spot a user telling someone he's an idiot, any mod will moderate instantly. When it comes to more complex cases like a user with a history of making small jabs at a fanbase without crossing the line into flat out trolling then the outcome comes down to how the mod interprets the post. Some might dismiss it thinking the offense is not too bad to moderate while another more familiar with the user's pattern might decide to moderate.

True, I know it's not an easy job and I don't envy you, just seems like some posters here always seem to get away with obvious flamebaiting, taking jabs to rile people up while others mention a console is dead and instant 5 day ban.  But seeing how bad forums can be, you guys have a tough job :).

Pretty great actually.

The only problem I can think of is "mistake" bannings. I don't believe you guys make mistakes very often, but the posters getting banned certainly do. For example take this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=176737&page=1

IMO the point of mods is to get people to become better posters or else kick them to the curb. That's not working if the poster thinks the ban was unwarranted. Instead of thinking "Oh geese I should stop trolling Nintendo" they think "Oh geese f the mods and their biased modding." I think there should be some sort of official public counter-action a poster can take in these situations, instead of just making a thread and getting it locked or sending private messages. If they think the mods are biased, having general forum goers discussing their opinions could help. Basically make the threads like I linked to not necessarily against the rules.

I do understand the biggest problem with this idea is that 99% of the people believe their ban was unwarranted. Not sure what to do about that. Having ten "I didn't deserve this" threads a day would just be horrible.

Also I think people need to accept the fact "acceptable loss" applies when modding too. As a user, every once in a while getting a unwarranted ban isn't the end of the world.

So there's been a few threads the past couple days about people complaining against bans, and this thread has re-activated. I wonder why that is?

Anyway, my position is no different to what it was a month ago, or a year ago, or when I joined. I'm fairly certain that's well-known now.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
