Is Fifa really made in Canada?? That is weird...
So basically CoD, Fifa, Halo and AC...

Another CoD in a few months, and another Fifa and AC.

And possibly another halo as well XD. Not much variety. Though to be fair its only the mega sellers without variety. There are plenty of different games in the 5-7mil range that got pushed aside but would have made the Japan list.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

GTA 4 was made in Scotland.

Thanks for the info. Fixed

Very interesting. I had no idea Resident Evil 5 was so popular in Japan. I stopped paying attention to Resident Evil when it turned into an action game.

I'd love to see a USA chart to compare the cultural difference.

EDIT: I see someone made a North America list. Thanks. But I'd rather see a full list of the top games sold in North America. The Japan list is packed with Japanese games because Japan is packed with people who only buy Japanese entertainment. But in the rest of the world we don't care where it was developed so long as it's good.

I'm going to make the list and post it here. It will be console only and include all games not just North American developed ones. Hope I get it right I've never done this before.

No, the Japan list only consists of Japanese games because it's a list of the top selling Japanese games WW ;o.

Oh. I guess I read the title wrong. LOL I did wonder why the sales numbers were so high, but I just figured the Japanese just love them some Mario ;)

I'll still make the list I want to see.

Ok, so I made the North America list I wanted to see. It's just North America, console only, and keeps the consoles seperate. I'm not going to post the link here, out of respect fo Troll Whisperer, but you can find it in the gaming discussion section of the forum.

Top 20 USA developed games, excluding call of duty and madden which would have each taken up 5+ spots. Only games that came out 2006 or later. Excluded handheld sales this time, but not PC or PS2. Hopefully i didn't miss anything. Big games missing that would have made it if vgchartz could track pc digital sales. Diablo 3, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, Starcraft 2. Basically Valve and Blizzard get the shaft though they are among the most popular American devs.

Ranking Game Sales Platforms
1 Kinect Adventures! 16.8m 360
2 Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock  16m Multi
3 Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 12.6m 360,PS3,PC
4 Halo 3 11.5m 360
5 Red Dead Redemption 9.9m 360,PS3
6 Halo: Reach 9.1m 360
7 Fallout 3 7.5m 360,PS3,PC
8 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 7.3m Multi
9 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 6.6m 360,PS3,PC
10 Gears of War 2 6.5m 360
11 Fallout: New Vegas 6.3m 360,PS3,PC
12 Halo 3: ODST 6.1m 360
13 Gears of War 6.0m 360
14 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 5.7m PS3
15 Gears of War 3 5.5m 360
16 Medal of Honor 5.36m PS3, X360
17 Forza Motersport 3 5m 360,PS3,PC
18 NBA 2k12 4.8m Multi
19 NBA 2k11 4.8m Multi
20 Borderlands 4.6m 360,PS3,PC

Moral of the Story: Nintendo practically WAS Japan this generation, much like Call of Duty was the FPS.

Heh, how much do you suppose World of Warcraft has sold? With all the quitters and newcomers and 1 month subscribers.

Oh, you can post the link. It's nice to spur sales related discussions anyway.
