Oh well, it's probably a next-gen project by now. Maybe it's better off that way. Can't see myself being excited about Versus XIII this late in the gen.

Perhaps Sony itself told SE that they don't want VXIII on PS3 any more and they want it to be a system seller early in the PS4 gen (year 1 or 2). SE could respond that unless Sony money hat them then the best Sony can get is timed exclusivity. SE agreed VXIII would be exclusive on PS3. If Sony insists on moving to PS4 then all exclusivity bets would be off.

Sony won't money hat (can't afford it) and VXIII will be a next gen timed exclusive.

The more time goes on this gen, the more I just feel like crying when I get FF news. Final Fantasy was my most charished gaming series in existence. Now I cringe everytime Wada opens his mouth because there is always a strong chance he will find a new way to ruin what I love most.

Why can't we even get a scrap of fucking information???? Is that really too much to ask for?!?! SquareEnix seems to be actually afraid of the adoration FFVersusXIII has achieved. Even before FFXIII came out, Versus was always the more anticipated game. Then XIII turned out to be......whatever the hell it was and the pressure for Versus to be even better rose higher. I think Toriyama is jealous of Nomura's game and has Wada in his back pocket so they are being super silent on Versus info because every measly scrap of info for that game blows anything else they could ever announce out the water.

Sure, maybe it's good business to release games using content they already have, but this is REALLY hurting their brand image, which is very bad for long term strategy.

Didn't they release a statement when ff13-2 came out saying now they will focus all their resources on vs 13? What kind of bs is this,

I believe they said it'll go into full production, not necessarily "all their resources."

Ya gotta love Square (or hate them)... they continue to punt the two games that fans clamor the most for, KHIII and FF Vs XIII, farther and farther into the future, and instead keep giving them games they don't want and don't ask for like another sequel to XIII and a redo of the debacle that was XIV.

Spoiler: the next big Square-Enix announcement will be the "long-awaited" sequel to The Bouncer lol.

They just started working on Final Fantasy XIII-3. It is clear that Versus XIII was not intended to be on the PS3. They announced it way too soon and are hoping people forget about it. Then turn what they had into Final Fantasy XV and then announced the project is on the PS4, 720 and Wii U.

Oh god I give up on this thing.
