Both horrible designs, imo. No thank you.

Actually, I don't know if this was specified in the Nintendo design, but the idea of the smaller screen (a Vita?) on top of the gun acting as a scope is pretty nifty.  One of the worst things about using a scope in most games is that you lose all close proximity awareness until something bashes you in the skull, then you have to re-orient yourself for close range.  It would also let you scan for movement then quickly find your target without all the in-and-out that normally goes along with sniper scenarios.

Not a bad idea, to be honest.  I don't know if it's practical, but I kind of like it.

Eh, the small screen as opposed to the hulking Wiiupad is less horrible. They just look like glorified, cumbersome (and no doubt more expensive) light guns to me. As for the use of the screen, I think I can survive having to click in an analog stick!

How outdated.. both of them.. Konami's lasercope is way better... just look at target and then say: "FIRE" to shoot...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Not saying it would end up being any good if made physical, just that I do like the idea.  Like a permanent version of a reflex sight, which I love in FPS games.  On the fly fighting would be so much more accurate.  It will probably never see the light of day in that form, though.

With recent patent law verdicts, you're going to see companies try to patent everything, even if they never intend to make it.

The Wii U Zapper costs like 20 bucks with a game.  I don't see why Nintendo's Wii U zapper would be any more expensive than that.  It doesn't have any sort of added functionality, except for some simple mechanism to keep the Wii U gamepad in place.  It's essentially just a plastic shell.

Doesn't this one have built-in controls and motion sensing though? I can't see the Wiimote+nunchuck on the images. Add the fat gamepad to it and you have one ugly, cumbersome, expensive lightgun.

lol.

saw this a month or so here on VGC so Sony is faster at copying than you think

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Yeah, I first saw that illustration several months ago, I'm pretty sure. I don't see anywhere that says when the patent was filed, though. I do see that they filed patents for a bunch of different types of gun add-ons, though most use the Move.
