Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sony files a patent for an accessory inspired by the concept video for the Wii U

In the original, concept video for the Wii U, we saw an accessory that, when combined with the GamePad, transformed the controller into a viewfinder atop a gun. It seems like Sony liked this idea, as they’ve patented the above design. The proportions are different — and the accessory doesn’t rip-off the GamePad itself — but the similarities are clear. It’ll be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

Copycats, etc.

That was quick.

You can't patent what's already patended

So it must be somewhat different, I believe

This thread should be good.
OT: I do not think the idea would be that successful unless it is very accurate.

One creates an idea and all others follow

Steam/Origin ID: salorider

Nintendo Network ID: salorider

PSN: salorider

3DS Friend Code: 4983-4984-4179

Er ... not saying it's true or untrue, but there is no source or anything substantial in the linked article.

Both horrible designs, imo. No thank you.

Nintendo copying Sony again.

It looks like Sony's patent uses the Move so even if the purpose is the same it's using different technology. This thread will probably still turn into a who-copied-who war...
