Spaceguy, I'd like to point out a relationship, with regards to the 'haves' and have-nots', that I find interesting.
Reading your comments about the 1% and how they don't pay their fair share, it's just as easy to accuse you of the exact same thing. I don't know how much money you have, but I think it's safe to assume you're not poor. So relatively speaking, you're one of the 'haves', at least in comparison to someone who truly owns nothing. See what I'm getting at. You're kinda the 1% for them.
So I'd like to ask you what you've personally sacrificed to enrich the life, or lives, of the other 99%... again, relatively speaking to your individual economic position.
Would you give up your computer? Your video game system? Have you donated money to any shelters? I mean, have you yourself done anything at all that could be considered a redristrubution of your own wealth?
If not, and this goes for anyone else in this thread who thinks the ultra-rich should be forced to give more and share a greater percentage of what's theirs with the less fortunate, than your complaints, viewpoints, condemnation and disapproval of those that have more than you, is nothing more than a demonstration of your own greed. Ironic isn't it... and quite hypocritical.
I can say that with a fair degree of certainty because I know you haven't done any of those things. Nor has anyone else in here that agrees with you. It's just a lot easier to complain about things. Written opinions are fun. Two-dimensional little testaments of worth and morality, for display purposes only it would appear.
Look, the rich have what they have.. it aint yours, it aint mine. You think it shouldn't be that way, well then, maybe you should put your money where your keyboard is and give up some of what you have to others that don't. This way you don't sound like a completely envious, bottom line selfish individual.
Personally, I don't give up anything. I work for what I have and if I want more, well I just gotta work harder. That's what America's about. That's what it's always been about. It's such a shame people have forgotten that.
