This is exactly what the 1% want in this country.

I can think of lots of reasons, social issues (not good to kill babies), wanting to avoid deficit spending, not wanting to be bled of every penny by tax happy Democrats, caring about the meteoric growth of entitlements, and wanting the ability to protect yourself and your family (when you need help in seconds the police are just minutes away if they even bother to show up at all.)
In truth, the Republican party died years ago Space Guy. The "Neo Conservatives" (or Neo Cons) have gone under the banner of Republican and basically changed their policy from conservative to supporting the monopolistic wealth of the corporate right, instead of instilling individual growth, limited government, job growth and limited foreign spending. True Republicans don't use channels like FOX to spread propaganda.
"No matter what the reason is that made the rich as rich as they are, there is no reason for 1% of a nation to have that much wealth while everyone else struggles."
And why is that? If your saying they have no reason to have that much money and they could part with some of it then I agree with you. However, it should not be mandatory at all. That should be based on the individuals personal view on things. It's their money that they made and they should have a say in how they spend it. If they want to donate most of it to the poor that should be their decision. I understand why it would be so easy for you to say otherwise but doesn't mean thats right. I am not anywhere near the 1% but I dont agree they should be footing the bill. That aint right. Though it would be nice for me.

Over the past thirty years the Republicans who have been in office havent been true republicans but rather corporatists. These people dont support the true Republican people. The problem is the majority of the conservatives in this country believe they are on the same side as the neo-conservatives who truthfully need to create their own party and stop confusing the masses.
I believe it has more to do with "social values" than with economic policies. I think in certain places and industries, people realize their jobs will probably always be there no matter what party is running the show, so they vote for the guy who has the same stances on social issues as them.
In short, there sure are a lot of rednecks and uptight religious nuts in this country, aren't there?

Simple: Republicans scare people with stuff like abortion and gay marriage. Why else is most of the republican electorate old and crochety? XD

Just like I said in the ENTIERTY of my first post, you yourself are doing. Taking bits and pieces of what people say, and twisting it to what suits your argument. In essence I was saying that the rich didn't deserve to make as much as they did, or the lied/cheated/stole to get it, so it's blood money, and thus, not REALLY theirs to "do with as they see fit." It really is a shame how twisted the the top 1% has the nation. They have us at each others throats while they sit back and watch us kill each other off, then come by and take our wallet after we're deceased.
It does no good to try and explain it, because the damage is already done. People have already turned on each other and it would take an act of God to see people treat people like people again, instead of just a number (high OR low).

No matter what the reason is that made the rich as rich as they are, there is no reason for 1% of a nation to have that much wealth while everyone else struggles. I don't care how great your invention or innovation is. Generally speaking, the rich stay rich, because they continue to take advantage, in one way or another, in order to stay rich. Whether it be over charging for their product, under paying for their workers, loop holes in the law to avoid taxes/getting tax breaks for reasons that shouldn't even be legal (though they are)....the list goes on. Most of the topics in hear that people are spouting off are only one side of the lie. If you're not in the inner circle that is the top 1%, you most likely don't have all the facts as to how they got there, what shady on-goings took place to land them there, and what they have done/still do to stay there. All I know is that hard working men and women should be able to earn a steady RESPECTABLE living wage for whatever it is they do. Sure there needs to be variations in the amount, but it shouldn't be so high or so low that it's unjust. I don't pretend to propose to have all the answers, but THIS is the philosophy that our country needs to adopt and see through. Not just sit back and say it can't be done. Or "we're so greedy that we won't let it be done" (as it adversely affects our pockets). |
Did you know that if you earned $34,000 per year you are among the top 1% of income earners in the world?
No matter what you did to earn that you obviously don't have any rights to own luxuries like cars, televisions, smart phones, videogame consoles or live in homes larger than 500 square feet when most of the world is struggling ...
There are no "secrets" being kept that prevent people from success in life; there are many paths to success that are widely know but all are difficult to follow, while the path to poverty is a fun rollercoaster ride.

Oh, and the graph that shows the growth of income doesn't list the top 1% in the first part of that graph. but it does in the second one. Curious wouldnt you think? |
The first graph includes the top 1% percent in the top 20% because there wasn't major difference between this two. The second one puts them apart because of the brutal difference between them.
