The Wii closely followed by the PS3. There seems to be a pretty big gap between those two and the 360.

XBox 360 for me, obvioulsy not for others.

Games I care about (that are suppose to be first half of this year to my knowledge): Splinter Cell Conviction, Grand Theft Auto 4, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, and Frontlines: Fuel of War  Out of these only Splinter Cell Conviction is an XBox 360 exclusive but I'm a huge Assassins Creed fan so this is my most anticipated game of the year.

I dont see how anyone can put the Wii above PS3 (and for the same reason XBox 360 though I think GTA4 will be bigger for PS3) because of GTA4.  GTA4 is a monster.

My opinion of the general public:

Do wii fanboys still think they are the best? With another Mario Kart and Super Smash bros ? And a game thats already on pS2 ? And no more heroes has hardly any sales so far in Japan.

You're forgeting about Splinter Cell: Conviction for the XBox 360.

Nobody ever noticed those games are shallow and generic compared to any other AAA efort?
I mean, its obviously an AAA title and all, but I cant believe PS3 owners claims they have the best line up because of that game and not because of MGS4

The problem with using attach rates in regards to Smash Brothers is quite obvious. The game flourished as much for its quality as the decided lack of competition. The previous two Nintendo consoles had neither a fantastic lineup or a very diverse one. Hopefully Nintendo can resolve that problem this generation, but the latest installments success will have everything to do with the consoles library, and whether the market emulates that of the previous two consoles.

Basically using the attach rate for the previous installment tells you nothing about the attach rate for the upcoming installment. While it is true that the library is still as stagnant as ever perhaps worse. The typical owner might be a whole new story. Further more hopefully, and I do hope all Wii owners hope for this the library will be much better this time around giving the franchise at the very least some modest competition.

By the way I have to say this Smash Brothers is not a hardcore game. Any game your seven year old nephew can pick up and play in under ten minutes is hardly hardcore. That is actually quite typical of fighting games, and thats why you find so many in arcade machines. You don't have a large learning curve. Hell thanks to the Wii mote the controls are probably more simplistic then the last installment.

Wii will have the Best games, but PS3 and 360 will probably have more games that are really good.

It's easily PS3, 360, then Wii.

The Wii has SSBB, maybe Kart (as much chance as NG2, that's for sure), and then nothing. You can not count Wii Fit unless you equate sales to "best." It's an exercise board more than a game. If you want to get in shape, DDR will serve you better.

There are several more games for PS3/360 that could make it during the first half of 2008 (Street Fighter HD, for example), but the only stretch for Wii is No More Heroes. The Wii really doesn't have many quality titles in line unless there are low profile titles such as Zack and Wiki (which I'll have an impression of soon).
