I don't hate the show (I don't like it but that's not the point), I hate what it does to people. Seeing people I once respected obsessing about colourful ponies baffles and confuses me

Let me ask you some questions...

How do you define obsessing? Why is it worse to obsess about colourful ponies than about, say, a video game? What does it, in your view, do to people? Do they change in a negative way that you don't like (and if so, in what ways do they change)?
