Forums - Gaming - My eldest 360 is juuust starting to go flaky :(

Built in 2005, god only knows how man years spent on it playing or streaming and she's starting to go.

If its online longer than an hour, the video starts to get lines in it.

Sadly I think its about time I take her behind the shed and put her down like old yeller.  I already have a boxed slim with 250 gig hdd I got for $209 from a store going out of business to put in its place but its just sad that she's not going to make it to nextgen....

Can we have a moment of silence while I play taps, Please.

Have you tried turning the HD on/off?

I rarely, though frequently, have the same problem. The TV is the problem in my case though, and turning the HD off always helps.

Oh yea, tried it all.  I've even opened it up and cleaned every single surface of dust etc to make sure dust wasn't insulating heat in.  No go...it has to be one of the video circuits that starts to go nuts once the heat gets up.

Seven years for $399.00 of investment on it...probably cost me like .01 an hour for how much it got used to its not a bad death.  It spit at RROD and broken wind in its general direction while keeping on running.

LOL I remember when RROD was BAD and I was counting the hours until mine did it too.  Bizarre how so many fried but some just kept on going.

Especially compared to the original xbox...crap that thing was as big as a suit case.  I still miss mine though.  I had a break in to my house and had 2 of them stolen along with my ps2/dreamcast/n64.  My house is like a frigging electronics dream.  They were looking for finger prints but I think they should have checked for semen on my carpet...the shetheads that broke into my house probably were busting a nut when they saw all the stuff.

I feel like I should be having a proper funeral and then a wake.  You're all invited...food will be provided.  We can swap old 360 stories and reminice about the good old days....I'm going to try to keep it upbeat...it would be very easy to fall into sadness and regret.

Lastly...if I lose it and throw myself at the grave, I need someone to pull me back and stop me from making a fool of myself...

Count your blessings.

I think everyone knows that XBOX 360's are pretty crappy hardware wise.

Yours lasted longer than it was theoritically supposed to........so with that.....you're ahead of the curve.

You should be glad that it lasted so long! My first 360 only lasted for 2 years

Wow, well congrats on it living that long! Mine is almost 5 years old... not bad, right? Streamed the hell + played the hell out of it.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

2005 360? Seriously?

Rare species.

Yay!!!
