No not at this time but maybe later in the PS3 lifecycle when the PSV can be used as a controller. But free no way discounted yes but not free.
I think a bundle would work for $500. Get a PS3, Vita, and PlayStation All Stars for both.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.
Imagine if this were to happen. It would definitely be a first.
I like Signalstar's idea: PS3 + Vita + PASBR + 8GB memory card (for Vita) at axum's MSRP of $400 would be a steal.
Not likely to happen at all though.
And would be very embarrassing to Sony I think.
yes when both PS3 and Vita get a price cut, will see it on 2013...
or else bundle them without price cut will still be expensive after all...
Are we sure ther not saying a PS3&PSV for 479 bundle? I dont think they mean give it away for free.

Hot of the announcement of the cross-buy feature Sony announced with PS3 and Vita, I began to wonder; is it time for Sony to start bundling PS Vita’s with their home console? In case you are unaware, Sony recently announced a cross-buy system in where players who purchase certain titles on PS3, will be able to download the PS Vita version of the game absolutely FREE. It’s an amazing promotion and a very good move for gamers who have both Sony devices. PS Vita has failed to gain ground at retail and continues to be outsold by its main competitor, the Nintendo 3DS. Although the system is a very sleek and sexy device, consumers haven’t really set the retail shelves on fire with the handheld and Sony understands that. Although the handheld is still in its infancy, Sony has to be feeling some pressure to move a ton more units of the device. If Sony decided to bundle the PS Vita with new PS3 systems, not only would it give gamers a tremendous value and kickstart sales of both machines and help take the wind out of Nintendo’s sails when it launches the WiiU later this year. Sony has already displayed how its handheld can be a secondary controller and with the PS3 showing it has plenty of life left in it, this may be something that the company may want to explore. What do you guys think? Should Sony consider this move?

No, Vita needs to sell for people who want it not with Ps3.
Really, a lot of people are coming here just to bash the idea of a free Vita witha PS3. Come on, what he means is a bundle with the two devices and a discount (PS3 costs 250, Vita costs 250, get both by 400). It's not necessary to think a lot to realize that a free Vita would be impossible.
That would be a terrible idea.
They should bundle them together and call it the PS4. That's a brilliant idea.

This looks great to me. I would even pre-load the unit with a couple of Vita controlled PS3 game demos. Just to suck the wind out of Nintendos sails or sales?
I would also have one sku that bundled Vita with PS4 at launch. IMO we are to the point were games can be built to support features, and you can use them if you pay the extra cash for the extra peripherial. Just like any real life activity, there is a minimum entry point, but if you want to spend the cash, you can gain an advantage.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
