If you aren't going to bother reading the post, at least, read the title.

Might give people incentive to buy games because they know they can get it on their PS3 and vita.

I think gameloft might do it...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Sony should reduce the royalties to the companies that make crossbuy games, to compensate them on the extra development cost. Sony has to sell consoles, third parties will migrate to systems where they have better ROIs.

Please read the title.... atleast the title.

Yay!!!

I do not see 3rd partiess supporting this.
And of course Sony is doing this to help Vita. Problem is: this won't help Vita's sales at all.
Now I don't know what they'll do next. Because they're almost making bad moves only.

It's pretty clear that Cross Buy was conceived to help increase the user base for the PSV more than anything else. I don't see much reason for debate there.

In that respect, it makes no business sense for any third party developer to devote resources to a PSV version of their console based games, only to give away free licenses, assuming the games are good enough to warrant a $30-40 purchase.

But of course that mindset is coming from the perspective that this will be exclusively applied towards the traditional retail box price portable games costing $30-40, when there's no reason why this would or even should be the standard design model used for any such Cross Buy games.

Think a little bit beyond that old model and conceive designs for games that complement the console version of the game or enable the player to generate resources, equipment, etc. while playing on the PSV that can benefit the player when they transition back to the console version of the game. It doesn't take much creativity or thought in the design process to continue moving in this direction.

Not saying anyone's actually working on something like this, but it would be a wasted opportunity if publishers only used Cross Buy to give away licenses of the *almost* exact same game for the purpose of selling more PSVs for Sony.

If Sony wants to give away a bunch of licenses of retail box mobile games to increase the user base, by all means, most rational people who own both platforms will like free stuff. I just see more in the way of potential for Cross Play/Cross Buy.
