Forums - Gaming - Resonance of fate. Your thoughts. Thanks!

I traded-in a bunch of games and finally decided to try out Resonance of Fate.  I put it in my ps3 and was ready to be blown away.  Right now, I am not.  The opening sequence was superb, I was hyped.  Then, I gained control of my character.  The graphics are not good but maybe my expectations were too high.  Now, I am only in the beginning, but I am very confused.  Not much help in the manual or the tutorials.  So, before I give up, can you tell me what you think of this game?  Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Well, I think Resonance of Fate has one of the most interesting, unique, and fun battle systems of any RPG that has released this gen. Trying to make sure that every time you took a turn with one member of the team you passed between the other two often took quite a bit of forethought. The story isn't anything that'll change your life but it keeps things light and funny. I remember the game very fondly.

...

battle system is superb and theres lots to enjoy about its grinding system, its pretty complicated ive had about 20hours out of it not played for well over a year or so but i always keep it in collection its a good game, the graphics are good and music is also good

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Theres an arena near town that will teach you the entire system go there. The game is great, but the story isn't very interesting, but I found the way the three main characters interacted as pretty cool I guess.

Thanks for the tips guys. I played a bit more and it seems that the combat is way more deep than any other game I have played. This game is much more complex than I thought at first.

The game sucked major ass and sadly I'm one of the few who thought this.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I would RoF like hig C or a Low B. The battle system awesome, but unfortunately not enough is done to keep it fresh. So towards to end it becomes unchanging.

The story is told episodes, but the game does a bad job of telling it. Like you have read the RoF complete works for the full story. They leave alot of interesting shit out.

The Characters are great.

in regards to music it isnt Sakaruba's best but its still good.

Give the game a chance

..Yeah, well, besides that, the game is alright. Has a pretty good and unique battle system but the story itself is meh (humor just barely saves it). I like the music as well.

Sadly, you need to put a bit of effort to learn the battle system, but once you do, it's a fun experience.

I liked this game a whole lot. However there are many things wrong with it.

The battle system is initially great... It's complex and very rewarding for me it was about 25 hours or so and then I was like bleh.

However, the battle system at the start doesn't really add layers, or anything to keep it fresh. What they do is they overcomplicate you at the start... and don't add anything much. How they keep it fresh is take away a party member... >_<, or 2, which makes the battle system worse.

The games plot goes nowhere until near the end and then it's kind of dumb imo.

However, there are costumes, COSTUMES! though no bikini for leanne :(. Some funny dialogue and overall fun questing.

Thanks for the comments. It really is a tough game to get into for me. Nothing is explain much...
