Forums - Sales - Sony: 2.2 Million PS Vita Units Sold Worldwide

Wow it is pretty depressing to find out a poor selling system is overtracked.

I have looked through this thread but I don't see a link to N4G. I am curious as to what they are saying.

95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

Here it is.

Funniest comment: "2.2 million with not one holiday appearance, at a 250-300 price range in a bad economy and little marketing, with not that many games and it's biggest games yet to come... this is pretty good. sony is not lying when they say they are happy with vita sales, im sure this is how they look at it as well..."

It reminds me of Jack Tretton calling the 3DS a great baby sitting tool, to be honest.

Well, to me if this is "news", great... I probably like much more games kids-all ages than "mature" stuff

Jack Tretton: "No self-respecting twentysomething is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those.  He's too old for that [baby-sitting tool]."

The Vita could have had a better start, but it's not that bad either. It's still on track to become the second best selling non-Nintendo handheld of all time and this in and of itself is a major success.

I can see where your coming from.

But bottom line is.. its selling less than=equal to psp numbers. Specially knowing that the Psp is 7 years old lol.

Yay!!!

No good.

Subtle but there really is a good side in everything.

As kowenicki said, those are probably "end of June" figures, so it's not as bad as it sounds. Still not good, though.

Assassin's Creed and COD cannot come fast enough.

Couple of thoughts: apparently those sales are not bad enough for people to start jumping ship, situation seemed worse with 3DS.
If the launch line-up was "one of the best seen in many years" and it's such a great gaming device, something must be going really wrong somewhere. I'm not implying the last two statements are false, it's just that it's performance is bad.
This holidays sales will be very fun to follow.

Found this on NeoGaf:

Yikes. Although the source did say that this is the worst comparison.

Will try to keep an eye out for a better comparison.
