Yeah... your grandma is getting screwed.  One of my customers used to be a manager at McDonalds and she made GREAT money. 

Maybe it's a franchise instead of part of the main Mcdonalds?

The Gamestop by my house is pretty great, but most of the ones I've been to had morons for employees. I can understand how they're so high on tis list because the employees that work hard are given ridiculous hours (especially managers) and are required to offer you unnecessary shit or risk getting fired.

lol. Most low level employees don't even get $8. I was offered minimum wage and never thought about it twice.

This kind of reminds me of my first experience at Gamestop. I brought Legend of Zelda Wind Waker when I was a kid and the guy asked me if I wanted to buy a strategy guide. I told him, I could just go to gamefaqs.com if I needed any help with the game. He subsequently agreed with me.

I feel bad for how Gamestop treats unknowing parents with their strategy guides and warranties and whatnot.

To be honest Gamestop just sounds like most modern retail business'. Low pay poor benifits and short contracted hours. However if you can stick it out an employees effort can lead to career progression and lead to better pay and benefits.

I may have left a poor impression before, in that i'm not one of the ones who really hates GameStop, i'm just wary of their employment practices (but then, i've made my feelings about employers and their "screw you both ways" practices known before), but i have no objection to GameStop. I tend to favor them for my purchases because A: they're more informed than non-specialty stores and B: no shipping fees for brick-and-mortar purchases. I've never had any of the real horror stories, and even their clerks seem to push me to preorder games that are at least halfway relevant to my interests.

One + I would give to Gamestop is that they do the midnight launches. That in itself is a customer friendly practice and very enjoyable to say the least. I've gone to the Starcraft 2, Guitar Hero 3, and Wii launches.

I'm guessing they pay less in rual areas and in locations that don't get constant steady business.

I would be an awful employee at Victorias Secret. 

Customer: Excuse me, could you help me find the __ size bras? 

Me: 

I wouldn't really say EB games is gone, since GameStop bought all the stores. 

When I was younger I would always go to this store called GameCo.
