For the record, pretty much all retail jobs suck.

However, I imagine the type of people Gamestop hires are tech savvy and most likely to be vocal about their experience to a, "online employment portal." Which may be a big reason why Gamestop is high on the list.

Retail in general is not great; Gamestop is particularly bad in that it fosters a negative relationship with the customers. Employees are required to take advantage of customers wherever possible to increase profit margins; people who work in retail, generally speaking, do not like doing that. They would much prefer to help their customers in a way that allows them to take pride in their job.

Gamestop does not give its employees that leeway.

I'm sure I'd be miserable there too nor would women be comfortable with me working there.

I've only been there a handful of times but I imagine they only employee women and gay guys.

I think it'd be a good part-time job, but i've been told they don't like hiring gamers who are too well-informed. I've tried GS twice before, and never got a call-back, though that could be for any number of reasons, since nobody ever calls me back...

unless i'm being hired to dress the models in photoshoots and runway shows i imagine it isn't that great..

Most positions at McDonalds pay over $8 dollars an hour plus I'm pretty sure that McDonalds has better benifits.  McDonalds is actually one of the better fast food places to work for it might not be Starbucks but its way better then Gamestop.


Must be different for my town then. My grandma has been working there for over 10 years and is a manager barely makes 9$ an hour. Which is terrible. Also Pizza hut my friend was a manager and made 8.25.

That can't be true. You should ask your grandma how much she makes because if she is really making that much as a manager, she is being taken advantage of.

Well I would have fired you too. Your job is to sell products, not give your opinion. Even if a customer asks for your opinion, you need to lie to make that sale.

So it seems everyone hates GameStop now.

Cool, now we just need a better place just get games other than it. (How I miss EB Games!)
