Forums - Nintendo - Separate Audio For Wii U Gamepad And TV Confirmed

Toki Tori developers Two Tribes have confirmed on Twitter that they have managed to get separate audio working for the Wii U GamePad and the television. The development studio has yet to decide how to use this feature, but there’s sure to be some interesting ideas floating around.

We've got the first audio code running on Wii U. You can send separate audio to game pad and TV. Not sure yet if and how we can use that.

HOLY SHIT!!!

...seriously though, surely this was already confirmed? Can't imagine how the gameplay would be assymetrical otherwise.

I thought this was confirmed the day the Wii U got unveiled??

Wii Remotes could do the same thing. I just assumed...

My sentiments exactly...

I like this group. They like to give us real info.

Wii Remotes could do this--not feeling any surprises here...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

The good news is that the GamePad is capable of sounds and noises that are of much better quality than the 5 cent speakers in the WiiMotes.

Good to hear nonetheless, I'm sure developers can think of some interesting uses for the feature.

As everyone else said, this is something that we already knew.

Even Gearbox said months ago, when talking about Aliens, how they had the motion detector on the gamepad's screen and the speakers of the controller would "bip" when it detects something.

Please excuse my bad English.
