I put it to you that "acceptable" is subjective, i.e what he wants.
Since in his opinion it's "acceptable", who are we to say otherwise?

Objective consumers?
I mean... what if Bush says the Iraq war's results were "acceptable and justified"... were people not supposed to say otherwise?
I mean, if the people who did something got to decide whether what they did was successful or not regardless of the results... we'd never have a case of a failure, or something doing badly ever again.

I was referring to Jack's assessment of the situation.

I know that.
And I was referring to the fact that Jack's assessment of the situation was no doubt less then honest, as that's exactly what companies do.
If you listed to Microsoft, the Zune had acceptable sales too... better then acceptable in fact.
When someone is assessing their own product, a good rule of thumb is to shift down what they say two levels or so.
That companies use positive spin to make situations look a lot rosier then they are is really a less then controversial opinion.
The vita isn't doomed, but you see plenty of companies talk the world about doomed products, or even themselves if they're doomed.
Only fessing up to mistakes and that something failed after the fact, usually years after they stopped receiving a check from the guys who made the product.
Now if whoever the X-box guy is, says VIta sales are acceptable, or even someone like Pachter, that would hold a LOT more weight.
